  • Patent number: 5188536
Abstract: A surface mountable insulation displacement type connector for electrically coupling an end portion of a connector ribbon to a spaced series of surface mounted electrically conductive contact pads on a printed circuit board has an elongated base portion through which the central body sections of a longitudinally spaced series of metal contactor pins transversely and slidably extend. The pin body sections have bifurcated, barbed top end portions disposed above a top side of the connector base portion, and transversely enlarged bottom end portions disposed below the bottom side of the base portion. The base portion is secured to the circuit board by soldering the bottom pin end portions to the baord contact pads, with the slidable mounting of the pin body sections automatically compensating for board surface height variations in the region of the surface contact pads.

  • Patent number: 4797120
Abstract: A filtered electrical device 38 for being secured externally to an electrical connector and electrically engagable to at least one circuit path thereof comprises at least one contact member 40, a housing member 56 having at least one filter receiving aperture 60 therein, filter member 68 disposed in the at least one aperture 60 and electrically connected to said at least one contact member 40 and a ground means. Contact member 40 has first and second contact portions 42, 46, the first contact portion 42 being secured in the housing 56 and engagable with the at least one circuit path of the electrical connector to which the filtering device 38 is secured. Second contact portion 46 is exposed along a bottom surface 62 of aperture 60 and is paired with and spaced from third contact portion 50 which is also exposed along a bottom aperture surface 62. Fourth contact section 52, engagable with ground means is secured in housing 56 and extends outwardly from third contact section 50.

  • Patent number: 4772225
Abstract: An electrical terminal having electrical circuit components mounted in series thereon comprises a body section having terminal sections extending outwardly from each end, the terminal sections being adapted to be electrically connected to complementary conductive means of other respective electrical articles. The body section includes at least one component-receiving portion having a first section and a second section initially integrally joined by a severable section. A dielectric housing means is secured to the body section, the housing means having a component-receiving aperture therein associated with each of the component-receiving portions, the first and second and severable sections initially being exposed along a bottom surface of the aperture. The housing means is adapted to permit severing of the several section, thus electrically disconnecting the associated first and second sections.
