  • Publication number: 20210291842
Abstract: An update system includes an electronic control device that stores an autonomous driving logic and a server. The server includes: a storage unit storing personal characteristic data based on a user's driving and associated driving result data. In creating a first personal characteristic data associated with a first user ID and a first position, if first driving result data is present, the personal characteristic creating unit creates the first personal characteristic data using the first driving result data. If the first driving result data is not present, the personal characteristic creating unit creates the first personal characteristic data using the driving result data or the personal characteristic data associated with a user ID specified for the first user ID by the similarity specifying unit and the first position. The electronic control device includes a personal characteristic updating unit configured to update the autonomous driving logic using the first personal characteristic.

  • Patent number: 9470533
Abstract: Automotive navigation map data has a multilevel structure in which links have a relationship of association with one another among the minutest level and upper levels that are different from the minutest level in scale. A lowermost-level translation unit uses as original data items old and new RDB-form map data items of the minutest level to produce RDB-form difference data of the minutest level. An upper-level difference translation unit produces CSV-format data of a difference of each of the levels of the multilevel structure on the basis of CSV-format data, into which the difference data of the minutest level is translated, and information on the relationship of association among the links of the upper and lower levels in the automotive navigation map data, and integrates the difference data items as final map difference data for an automotive navigation map.

  • Patent number: 9098591
Abstract: It is provided a spatio-temporal data management system for managing time series data associated with a spatio-temporal region, comprising: a processor for executing a program; a memory for storing the program; and a storage device for storing the time series data. The processor segments the spatio-temporal region in time and space to generate a plurality of spatio-temporal segments, assigns, in consideration of temporal and spatial proximity of the plurality of spatio-temporal segments, identifiers for uniquely identifying the plurality of spatio-temporal segments, each of the identifiers being expressed with a one-dimensional integer value; and determines an arrangement of the time series data so that pieces of data of spatio-temporal segments that are close in the assigned identifiers are arranged close on the storage device.

  • Patent number: 9086290
Abstract: A map data distribution server that is connected to a network and distributes map data via the network is provided. The map data distribution server holds first map data and second map data that is of a newer version than the first map data and holds a plurality of update data including an instruction to update the first map data for each of partitions of a given size on a map. The map data distribution server decides whether a predetermined condition is fulfilled upon receiving an update request to update the first map data in a first partition out of the partitions to the second map data from a terminal communicating with the map data distribution server via the network, selects one of the plurality of update data relevant to the first partition, based on the result of the decision, and transmits the selected update data to the terminal.

  • Patent number: 8700554
Abstract: In the situation where an amount of information on a user action history is small, information which is unexpected and interesting to a user cannot be presented with high accuracy. In order to solve this problem, a general degree of unexpectedness of an item, which does not depend on the user action history, and a degree of preference of the user to the item, which is based on the user action history, are calculated in an integrated manner, whereby the information which is unexpected and interesting to the user is recommended.

  • Patent number: 8046368
Abstract: A document retrieval is performed with similarities between documents in numeric data taken into consideration. To this end, generated is a set E of intervals in which each element of a set D of numeric values representing a feature A is included in any one of the intervals. Each numeric value in each document is indexed by assigning, with 1, an interval including an element x of the set D, and with 0, an interval without the element x. Each document data including numeric values is indexed by indexing its text part with term frequencies, and by indexing its numeric-value part with the above-described numeric value indexing scheme. By use of indices thus created for each of the document data, similarities between the document data are calculated using a vector space model or a probability model, and the document data are presented in order of similarity.

  • Patent number: 7353240
Abstract: A method is provided for sharing a file among a plurality of hosts; the file is stored in a disk device shared among the plurality of hosts, each of which uses an operating system (OS) having a different format. In general, a management system of a file is different depending on the OS. Therefore, because a stored location of the file is unknown, it is not possible to view the file, which is managed by a management system of a certain OS, from the other OSs. Therefore, a method is provided whereby stored-location information of the file, which is managed by a management system of a first OS, is converted into stored-location information that is managed by a second OS format. Then, the second OS reads the file on the basis of the stored-location information that has been converted.

  • Patent number: 7293147
Abstract: A virtual private volume control system, wherein in a data frame of a command issued from an OS, an ID number for identifying the OS is attached to the command; inside the disk apparatus, exclusion/priority processing is controlled, based on the ID number; thereby enhancing the transaction processing performance of a complex of servers and the disk apparatus as a whole.

  • Patent number: 7155492
Abstract: In prefetch caching program implementation for hiding the delay of data access via a network, the operation of the existing applications with the prefetch program must branch, depending on whether data to access is on the cache and it is necessary to add branch processing to the data access process. In the disclosed invention, means for caching data on a device driver level in a client system and means for storing cached data into an external storage unit are provided. Cache control is accomplished by means for sending cache control commands such as “flush the cache” to the client from the outside of the client and means for executing received cache control commands within the client. Data access delay over a network can be hidden by caching.
