    Abstract: A rod for a coating machine according to the present invention includes a cylindrical base material, an intermediate layer formed on the surface of the base material and subjected to a lapping process and an abrasion-resistant film formed on the surface of the intermediate layer and subjected to a lapping process. The intermediate layer is a diffusion layer formed by reforming the surface of the base material by a diffusion process. Specifically, since the intermediate layer forms a part of the base material, the intermediate layer is firmly fixed to the base material and is not likely to separate from the base material. According to the present invention, a rod for a coating machine with high durability and a method for producing it are provided, which rod prevent flaws from developing on the surface of a base material object on which a coating solution is applied.

    Abstract: The NOx-cleaning paving structure of the present invention comprises a concrete base layer 1, a paving layer 2 and a surface layer 3 as illustrated in FIG. 1. The surface layer 3 comprises 100 parts by weight of cement, 5-50 parts by weight of titanium oxide powder and 100-700 parts by weight of aggregate, by which the surface layer on the paving layer can be provided with an NOx-cleaning action and an excellent durability. In addition, pozzolan materials, particularly a blast furnace slag, or adsorbing materials can be added to the surface layer. The paving layer 2 comprises an asphalt paving 21 or a concrete paving 6, both of which may include the used paving layers. It is preferable that the asphalt paving is porous and the surface thereof has an unevenness. Additionally, it is preferable that the thickness of the surface layer is 1-300 mm for the concrete paving and 2-15 mm for the asphalt paving. Among cement, injection cement for half-flexible paving is preferable.

    Abstract: Coating liquids are supplied to a coating hopper, and are extruded onto a slide surface of the coating hopper through slits. A pair of guide members are provided at both sides of the slide surface. Side faces of the guide members are positioned at both ends of a desired width of the coating liquids flowing of the slide surface to be applied on a traveling web. Consequently, the coating liquids that flow over the whole width of the slits are divided into the inside and the outside of the desired width by the guide members, and the divided coating liquids are extruded onto the slide surface. The coating liquids within the desired width flow down between the guide members and coat the web, whereas the coating liquids outside the desired width are collected through channels, which are formed in the guide members.
