  • Patent number: 4624032
Abstract: A slide fastener slider has an arch-shaped lug projecting from the top surface of an upper wing and terminating in a rear free end spaced from the top surface of the upper wing by a predetermined gap. A slide is slidably mounted in the upper wing and has a closure projection. The slide is movable between an open position in which the closure projection is spaced from the free end of the lug to open the gap for allowing the pintle of a pull tab to pass therethrough, and a closed position in which the closure projection is disposed adjacent to the free end of the lug to close the gap for preventing the pintle of the pull tab from passing therethrough. The slide is normally urged to its closed position by a spring mounted in the upper wing.

  • Patent number: 4521942
Abstract: A lockable slide fastener slider having a guide groove which allows a pair of rows of coupling elements to pass smoothly through a guide channel without entering an aperture communicating with the guide channel, even when the coupling elements are displaced toward the aperture. The guide groove is defined jointly by a bottom wall and a pair of oblique sidewalls diverging toward the guide channel, the bottom wall having a width substantially the same as that of the aperture. The peripheral wall bounding the aperture has an oblique end portion facing the guide channel and merging into the oblique sidewalls.

  • Patent number: 4455722
Abstract: A slider for a slide fastener comprises a slider body including a pair of upper and lower wings defining therebetween a Y-shaped guide channel, the lower wing having on its interior surface a ridge extending longitudinally of the guide channel for being locatable between a pair of stringer tapes of the slide fastener to slidably engage fastener elements of the slide fastener. The lower wing also has in the interior surface a pair of furrows disposed one on each side of the ridge and extending parallel thereto for allowing fastener-element-supporting edge portions of the tapes to be displaced into the furrows respectively. The furrows thus reduce frictional resistance between the stringers and the interior surfaces of the slider body. With such slider it is possible to correct a longitudinal divergence in interengagement between the opposed stringers without breakage or other damage to fastener-element-holding threads.

  • Patent number: 4438550
Abstract: A lockable slider includes a cylindrical plug rotatably mounted in a slider body and a locking member urged at its fore end by a spring member against a cam face of the cylindrical plug for pivotal movement about the one end in response to the rotation of the cylindrical plug, whereby a locking pawl disposed at the rear end of the locking member is brought into and out of locking engagement with a pair of coupling element rows of a slide fastener. The cam face includes a recessed central portion in which the fore end of the locking member is received with the slider in locked position, and a flat peripheral portion over which the fore end of the locking member lying across the recessed central portion is disposed with the slider in unlocked position. The cam face allows the cylindrical plug to be rotated bidirectionally for either locking or unlocking the slider.

  • Patent number: 4422220
Abstract: An automatically locking slider for slide fasteners has a locking member including a piece of resilient strip which is bent into a generally "3" or "E" shape having a U-shaped base extending around a transverse spindle of a pull tab, a locking prong extending from one end of the base, and an anchor extending from the other end of the base and terminating in a recessed end interlocked with a locking-member retaining-nose on a neck of a slider body. The base is normally urged against the spindle of the pull tab by the resilience of the strip. The recessed end of the anchor is normally urged against the nose by the resilience of the strip and is thereby prevented from coming out of interlocking engagement with the nose. Thus the locking member is held in position on the slider body solely by the resilience of the strip, requiring no bending or deformation of any part of the slider body that would make the slider defective from an aesthetic view.

  • Patent number: 4391022
Abstract: An automatically locking slider for slide fasteners has a locking member including a piece of resilient strip, preferably made of stainless steel, which is bent into a generally "3" shape having a U-shaped base extending around a transverse spindle of a pull tab, a locking prong extending from one end of the base, and an anchor extending from the other end of the base and terminating in a hook-shaped end hooked with a locking-member retaining nose on a slider's neck. The base is normally urged against the spindle of the pull tab by the resilience of the strip. The hook-shaped end of the anchor is normally urged against the nose by the resilience of the strip and is thereby prevented from being unhooked from the nose. Thus the locking member is held in position on a slider body solely by the resilience of the strip, requiring no bending or deforming of any part of the slider body that would make the slider defective from an aesthetic view.

  • Patent number: 4221027
Abstract: Disclosed is a lockable slider for a slide fastener in which but a single spring is provided on the fore thereof that has double functions to urge a cylindrical member upwardly for enabling the rotation thereof by a separate key and to simultaneously bias the fore end of a locking lever pivotally supported at its middle upwardly to pivot it in such a way to intrude a locking pawl formed at the rear end thereof into engagement with fastener elements, thus locking the slider relative thereto. The lockable slider thus permits to be the more compact in its rear, rendered itself the more attractive in appearance compared with the prior art slider equipped with two springs, one on the fore and the other on the rear thereof.
