  • Patent number: 7481698
Abstract: A surface grinding machine for a sintered rare earth magnetic alloy wafer comprises a pair of disk-shaped grindstones that face each other across a prescribed gap to be rotatable in opposite directions about their center axes. The grinding surfaces of the pair of grindstones and the center axe inclination of one grinding stone are configured to form a planar grinding region A wherein a portion of both of the grinding surfaces of the pair of grindstones lie parallel with a constant intervening gap therebetween. Other portions of the grinding surfaces of the grindstones constitute a wedge-like opening region B that becomes more narrow toward the planar grinding surface A. A feeder to feed the wafers from the wedge-like opening region B toward the planar grinding region A is provided in order to grind both surfaces of the wafers at the planar grinding.

  • Patent number: 6832606
Abstract: When a work W is cut by moving a wire in an axial direction thereof while the wire is pressed onto the work and an abrasive liquid which is made by dispersing abrasive grains in a dispersion medium is interposed between the work and the wire, a flow of the wire is formed, and the wire is pressed onto the work while moving under the liquid level of the abrasive liquid whose flow is formed. The work is cut in the abrasive liquid so that a sufficient amount of the abrasive grains can be supplied between the work and the wire for a long time.

  • Patent number: 6674715
Abstract: An ATM switching system comprises a redundant communication; system consisting of act-system and standby-system communication channels. Cells are sent through both the communication channels. A switch element is provided for performing system switching from the act-system communication channel to the standby-system communication channel in response to a request-to-switch. The switch element is connected with a line concentrator. The ATM switching system further comprises reading and controlling elements functionally realized installed software, for example. The reading element reads, when receiving the request-to switch, a number of the cell passing the line concentrator channel by channel. And the controlling element controls a switching operation of the switch element based on the read numbers.

  • Patent number: 6321448
Abstract: In a method of manufacturing a turbine nozzle having a nozzle blade body, a flat plate is prepared. A first support plate for supporting an inner ring side of the turbine nozzle is blanked from the flat plate by using laser beam cutting. A second support plate for supporting an outer ring side of the turbine nozzle is blanked from the flat plate by using laser beam cutting. Each of the first and second support plates in bent so as to form each of the first and second support plates as a ring member. While controlling laser beam based on a program, by the laser beam, the ring-formed first and second support plates are drilled so as to form holes therethrough. At that time, each of the holes has a three-dimensional blade profile, and the three-dimensional blade profile corresponds to a three-dimensional profile of the nozzle blade body. After that, the nozzle blade body is inserted into the holes of the first and second support platen so as to weld the nozzle blade body thereto by using a laser beam.
