    Abstract: A pressure transducer mounting apparatus for mounting pressure transducers utilizes a collet secured to a base to selectively retain and release a a transducer from a receptacle. The receptacle is movable within the collet to provide pressure communication to the transducer when installed and to block pressure communication when the transducer is released. A retainer surrounds the collet and receptacle and moves the collet radially when the retainer moves axially. The retainer may be moved axially by a screw thread or an offset key hole cooperating with a projection on the base.

    Abstract: A diaphragm and a first tubular member are combined into a one-piece transducer diaphragm element by electron beam welding. The first tubular member is formed as a first heat sink contacting one major surface of the diaphragm. A second tubular member is provided as a second heat sink in contact with the opposite major surface of the diaphragm. The diaphragm is sandwiched between the first and second tubular members into a composite structure laterally delimited by the peripheries of the diaphragm and the first and second tubular members. Ends of the first and second tubular members and a peripheral portion of the diaphragm are welded with an electron beam into a fillet-type welding joint monolitically unifying the diaphragm and first and second tubular members. Heat is axially removed from the diaphragm through the mentioned first and second heat sinks during the electron beam welding.

    Abstract: A transducer diaphragm comprising a diaphragm plate with a predetermined pattern of recesses and mesas formed by a chemical etching method to change and/or isolate the expansion and contraction areas of the plate under pressure. In the illustrated embodiment, the pattern includes a central depression on the rearward face including peripheral cutouts extending outwardly from the central depression to receive a strain gauge, thereby positioning the location of the maximum compression amplitude of the diaphragm to be under the gauge.
