Abstract: The present invention addresses a method, apparatus and computer program product for improving slow DCI reliability. Thereby, with regard to a subframe including slow downlink control information, an indication element indicating that the slow downlink control information transmitted in this subframe has the same content as slow downlink control information in the previous subframe or one of the past subframes is generated, and the indication element is transmitted in the same subframe and the same downlink control channel candidate as the slow downlink control information to a user equipment.

  • Publication number: 20190191434
Abstract: A radio network sends to a user equipment (UE) an indication that reduced processing time associated with a reduced search space is operational for the UE. The reduced search space is a sub-set of a larger search space associated with a non-reduced processing time. The network sends to the UE within the reduced search space downlink control information (DCI) in subframe N that allocates to the UE a radio resource. If the allocated radio resource is uplink, the network receives uplink data from the UE on the allocated radio resource in a subframe spaced from the subframe N an amount of the reduced processing time (N+reduced processing time); and/or if the allocated radio resource is downlink the network sends downlink data to the UE on the allocated radio resource in subframe N and receives from the UE in reply feedback (ACK/NACK) signaling in a subframe N+reduced processing time.

  • Patent number: 10321416
Abstract: Apparatuses and methods for transmission power control are disclosed. A given transmission resource and a first transmission power are determined (202, 204) for transmission. Prior to transmitting on the given transmission resource it is determined (206) whether the resource is occupied or unoccupied. Upon detecting that the resource is occupied, a second, reduced transmission power is determined (210) such that a transmission using the second, reduced transmission power would not render the resource as occupied. The determination of the second transmission power is based at least partially on a predetermined maximum transmission power reduction value. Transmission (212) is done utilizing the given transmission resource using the second transmission power according to the determination.

  • Publication number: 20190166618
Abstract: When triggering a user equipment (UE) to send a reference signal (SRS) the network configures the UE with multiple parameter sets, each having a timing indication. The UE's resource allocation grants multiple uplink (UL) subframes and identifies/selects one of those parameter sets. The timing indication of the selected set identifies one of the granted UL subframes, in one embodiment by counting only among the allocated/granted shortened UL subframes. This triggers the UE to send SRS in that identified shortened UL subframe. In one embodiment if no UL subframes in the grant are shortened this triggers the UE to send SRS in a subframe previous to all the allocated/granted multiple UL subframes. The same mechanism can be used to trigger feedback reports such as aperiodic channel state information or block ACK/NACK reports, where the different UL signaling being triggered is requested in the network's resource allocation to the UE.

  • Patent number: 10250364
Abstract: An aspect of this invention is a definition of a set of reused channel state information reference signal (CSI-RS) resources among transmission points, which can be lower power nodes, for intra-cell coordinated multi-point (CoMP) operation. Separate CSI-RS resources are defined for each transmission point for sporadic separate measurements to be made by user equipment. The sporadic measurements may be implemented with low additional overhead, and are used for generating potentially simplified CSI feedback to an evolved NodeB that enables adapting shared channel reuse and also potentially making related channel quality indicator (CQI) compensation.
