  • Patent number: 7808508
Abstract: A dental color system having primary and mixed colors with assigned coordinates in the CIElab color space, in which the colors of natural teeth are essentially located on coordinates within an ellipsoid-shaped space, which is assigned a longitudinal axis.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 12, 2007
Date of Patent: October 5, 2010
    Assignee: Degudent GmbH

  • Patent number: 7381258
Abstract: The invention relates to an opaque dental ceramic for burning on a rack or implant of dental restoration at least comprising SiO2, Al2O3, B2O3, Na2O, K2O as well as TiO2. To cover the non-dental-coloured implant material sufficiently the invention provides that the opaque dental ceramic is clouded by precipitation of one or more crystalline TiO2 phases.

  • Patent number: 7297645
Abstract: An opalescent glass-ceramic product, especially for use as a dental material or as an additive to or component of dental material, including SiO2, Al2O3, P2O5, Na2O, K2O, CaO and Me(IV))O2. In order to obtain improved opalescence with improved transparency, in addition to fluorescence, thermal expansion and a combustion temperature adapted to other materials, the opalescent ceramic product is completely or substantially devoid of ZrO2 and TiO2, such that the Me(II)O content in the glass ceramic is less than approximately 4 wt % and the Me(IV)O2 content amounts to approximately 0.5-3 wt %. The invention also relates to a method for the production of the opalescent glass-ceramic product.

  • Patent number: 5916498
Abstract: A process for manufacturing a non-metallic dental prosthesis including a ceramic frame and an esthetic ceramic veneer including the steps of: preparing the ceramic frame by press molding a composition comprising from 1 to 50 parts by weight glass particles and from 50 to 99 parts by weight ceramic particles at a molding temperature from 800 to 1300.degree. C.; applying a slurry comprising a dental ceramic veneering composition to the thus prepared ceramic frame; and firing the ceramic frame having the slurry applied thereto at a temperature lower than the molding temperature to produce said dental prosthesis. The dental ceramic veneering composition may have a melting point at least 50.degree. C. less than the molding temperature.

  • Patent number: 5562733
Abstract: A bonding dental ceramic material and method of use thereof is provided. The bonding dental ceramic material includes at least one network former and between about 8 and 17 percent by weight B.sub.2 O.sub.3. The bonding dental ceramic material does not contain more than 5% by weight of opacifier and/or pigment, and is adapted to bond to titanium or titanium alloy with a bond strength of at least 20 MPa. Preferably the bonding dental ceramic material has a melting point less than 800.degree. C. and includes a fluxing agent. This bonding dental ceramic material is used to make dental crowns and bridges. The bonding dental ceramic material is applied to titanium or titanium alloy and fired at less than 800.degree. C. Then an opaque dental ceramic material including at least one network former and more than 5% by weight of opacifier and/or pigment but less than 5% by weight B.sub.2 O.sub.3 is applied to the bonding dental ceramic material and fired at less than 800.degree. C.
