The concentrated antifreeze is flowed from the reservoir to the vehicle interior heating circuit via a shutoff valve to increase a concentration of antifreeze in the coolant solution. In some embodiments, a separation unit may be used to decrease the concentration of antifreeze in the coolant solution.

Power to the insulating member is decreased when an average temperature sensed by the thermal sensors is greater than or equal to a first predetermined temperature. Power to the insulating member is decreased when an individual temperature sensed by either of the thermal sensors is greater than or equal to a second predetermined temperature.

The invention relates to a device and method for transferring heat through a flue gas discharge pipe in which pivotal guide plates are inserted in the longitudinal direction of the pipe run, at which the flue gas flow is more or less deflected in a sinuous line as function of the pivot angle of the guide plates that can be adjusted during furnace operation. A fan can increase the flue gas flow. An optional furnace heat exchanger generates additional hot water as needed. The controller activates the actuators for the fan, guide plate pivot angle setting, and at least one circulating pump as a function of the prescribed controlled variables such as flue gas temperature, reservoir temperature, heat exchanger performance, or flue gas flow.

The mid-layer is arranged between the function layer and the compression limiter. The mid-layer has at least two essentially round fixing openings, outside a sealing region. The compression limiter is beaded around the edges of the fixing openings in the region thereof, and in this way fixes the compression limiter to the mid-layer. The function layer has recesses in the region of the fixing openings of the mid-layer, in order to accommodate the beaded region of the compression limiter, without increasing the total thickness of the gasket in the region of the fixing of the compression limiter.
