  • Patent number: 6807950
Abstract: A fuel injection system having a fuel injection valve in which an injection valve member is urged in an opening direction counter to a closing force by pressure in a pressure chamber which generated by a high-pressure fuel pump driven by a cam. A control valve is actuated by a piezoelectric actuator triggered by an electric control unit by which a communication of the pressure chamber with a relief chamber is controlled. When the control valve is closed, the pressure chamber is disconnected from the relief chamber. The control valve has a control valve member coupled with the actuator via a hydraulic coupler. The actuator, after a charging phase, communicates with an associated voltage meter, and the voltage between the electrical terminals of the actuator is monitored for detecting the function of the control valve.

  • Publication number: 20040065301
Abstract: The fuel injection system has a fuel injection valve (12) which has at least one injection valve member (34) by which at least one injection opening (36) is controlled, in which the injection valve member (34) is urged in an opening direction (35) counter to a closing force by the pressure prevailing in a pressure chamber (44) of the fuel injection valve (12); the pressure prevailing in the pressure chamber (44) is generated by a pump piston (18) of a high-pressure fuel pump (10) that is driven in a reciprocating motion by a cam (22); a control valve (54) actuated by a piezoelectric actuator (58) is provided, which is triggered by an electric control unit (53) by which, at least indirectly, a communication (71) of the pressure chamber (44) with a relief chamber is controlled; when the control valve (54) is closed, the pressure chamber (44) is disconnected from the relief chamber; and the control valve (54) has a control valve member (56), which is coupled with the actuator (58) via a hydraulic coupler (57).

  • Patent number: 6219102
Abstract: A weighted median filter interpolator for the interlaced to progressive conversion of video signals is proposed in which for example depending on the available or processable source fields the filter interpolator mode can be set to realize either a three-tap weighted median interpolator or a five-tap weighted median interpolator by respective selection of the weights such that the number of median samples to be processed at a certain time is always an odd number. An increased output quality is achieved if in the case of the five-tap weighted median IPC filter mode a three-dimensional filter aperture is set spreading over a horizontal, a vertical and a temporal dimension of three consecutive fields of an incoming interlaced video signal.

  • Patent number: 5528005
Abstract: The vibration absorber for the absorption of structure-borne sound has a wave conducting element made of mass-spring elements layered on top of each other and extending in the wave propagation direction. The mass-spring elements are configured as bending beams or plates, with a resilience which decreases in the wave propagation direction. The mass-spring elements are connected with each other by spacers which are arranged offset in respect to each other, in such a way that when they are affected by pressure or pulling at least one mass-spring element is bent.

  • Patent number: 5372655
Abstract: Method for the treatment of alloy steels and refractory metals such as Ti, Zr and Nb, especially for depassivation and subsequent thermochemical surface treatment in a process chamber (1, 2) under the action of pressure and temperature, wherein, in a first process step, a first gas or gas mixture from the group N.sub.2, H.sub.2 or NH.sub.3 is admitted for the depassivation into a process chamber (1), a pressure greater than 1 bar a and a temperature between 100.degree. C. and 1,000.degree. C. is established in the chamber (1), and in a second process step a second gas or gas mixture from the group of N-, C- or B-containing gases is admitted into a process chamber (1, 2) for the thermochemical surface treatment, and a temperature between 100.degree. C. and 1,000.degree. C. at a pressure greater than or equal to 1 bar a is established.

  • Patent number: 4196669
Abstract: A plurality of individual containers holding ammunition bodies are arranged within a dispersion warhead. A reaction engine is provided for each container or each of a group of containers. The reaction engines are mounted on the exterior surfaces of the containers, preferably on the container bottom. A rocket engine fueled with a body of solid fuel can be used as the reaction engine. Ignition means are provided at each end of the body of fuel. A centrally positioned detonating channel extends between the ends of the body of solid fuel. A slot-shaped continuous gas channel extends through the body of solid fuel between its ends and also extends laterally outwardly from the detonating channel to the surface of the body.
