Abstract: Disclosed is a fuel injection quantity controlling device for diesel engines having a vertically extending crankshaft. The device has a control rod disposed in parallel with the crankshaft. In the event of a failure in the mechanism for vertically and reciprocatingly driving the control rod, e.g. a lever, link or the like, the control rod moves downward by the force of gravity to automatically stop the fuel supply to the unit injectors.

Abstract: A water-cooled diesel engine suitable for use as a marine outboard engine, which has a cylinder head and a cylinder block formed as an integral unit from aluminum or an aluminum-base light-weight alloy. A cooling water jacket, intake ports and exhaust ports are formed in the cylinder head and the cylinder block.

Abstract: A valve arm chamber apparatus for a diesel engine having, on a cam shaft mounted above intake and exhaust valves thereof, fuel cams for rocking fuel valve arms for driving unit injectors mounted in a cylinder head and intake and exhaust valve cams for rocking intake and exhaust valve arms for opening and closing the intake and exhaust valves, which apparatus comprises a valve arm chamber member which supports the cam shaft, a fuel valve arm shaft for supporting the fuel valve arms, and intake and exhaust valve arm shafts for supporting the intake and exhaust valve arms.

Abstract: A governor for an internal combustion engine, in which a floating lever rotatably supported by a shaft abuts with its one end against the forward end of the governor spindle, the other end of the floating lever being connected through a link member to a control rod for controlling the fuel injection of the engine, and in which a regulator handle is provided, which is operatively connected to the shaft of a grip of a steering handle.

Abstract: A unit injector is disposed on a cylinder head in an oblique state and rocker arms for actuating intake and exhaust valves, respectively, are disposed on both sides of the unit injector. Another rocker arm for actuating the unit injector is disposed between these two rocker arms. Support beds for supporting a rocker arm shaft that supports both rocker arms for actuating the intake and exhaust valves and another rocker arm shaft that supports the rocker arm for actuating the unit injector are formed as a unitary structure. One cam shaft for operating the rocker arms for actuating the intake and exhaust valves and the rocker arm for actuating the unit injector is disposed at a low position on the side of the unit injector as close as possible to the axis of a piston.
