  • Publication number: 20070194681
Abstract: A spark plug for an internal combustion engine is provided which is equipped with a ground electrode and a center electrode. The spark plug also has a ground electrode noble metal chip joined to the ground electrode and a center electrode noble metal chip joined to the center electrode to define a spark gap between itself and the ground electrode. At least one of the ground electrode chip and the center electrode chip is made from material containing a main component of Rh (Rhodium) and an additive of 0.3% to 2.5% by weight of one or more selected from earth rare elements, IVA elements, and VA elements. This results in enhanced resistances of the one of the center electrode and ground electrode chips to wear arising from exposure to sparks and oxidation in high-temperature environments.

  • Patent number: 7054132
Abstract: A variable capacitance element includes a movable element provided above a substrate using supporting portions and support beams so as to be displaced from the substrate. An insulating film and a movable electrode are provided on a conductor facing surface of the movable element. A driving electrode is arranged to displace the movable element, between a signal cutoff position and a signal passage position, whereby a high frequency signal transmitted through a transmission line is cut off or allowed to pass. The insulating film uses compressive stress to warp the movable element and the movable electrode in a direction of warping in a convex form toward the transmission line, and maintains this warping direction.

  • Publication number: 20050285495
Abstract: A spark plug according to the invention has a length and an outer side surface. The outer side surface includes a plurality of closed band-shaped regions arranged in the lengthwise direction of the spark plug, within each of which a plurality of identical marks, which represent the same piece of information concerning the spark plug, are formed at predetermined intervals in a circumferential direction of the spark plug. Further, the marks within each of the regions represent the piece of information different from that represented by the marks within any other one of the regions, and each of the marks within each of the regions is aligned in the lengthwise direction of the spark plug with one of the marks within any other one of the regions. With such formation of marks, the spark plug can be accurately identified without rotating it to a specific position during the identification process.

  • Publication number: 20050191838
Abstract: A preheat device (160) is provided to execute, before forming bumps (16) to electrode parts (15), a pre-formation temperature control for bonding promotion to promote bonding between the electrode parts and the bumps during bump formation. Metal particles of the electrode parts can be changed to an appropriate state before the bump formation. Phenomenally, a bonding state between the electrode parts and the bumps can be improved as compared with the conventional art. In a further arrangement of the present invention, semiconductor components with bumps can be heated under a bonding strength improvement condition by a bonding stage (316) through controlling the heating by a controller (317).
