    Abstract: A side airbag device includes an airbag that is to be deployed and inflated to correspond to a portion from at least a head portion to a chest portion of the occupant. With a vehicle width direction being taken as a thickness direction, inner surfaces of the airbag in the thickness direction are connected by a tether so that a thickness of the airbag is regulated. The tether partitions an inner portion of the airbag into a first inflation chamber and a second inflation chamber, and has a communication hole through which the first inflation chamber and the second inflation chamber are in communication. When the airbag is inflated, the first inflation chamber corresponds to a rear chest portion of the occupant, and the second inflation chamber corresponds to a front chest portion and the head portion of the occupant. The inflator is disposed in the first inflation chamber.

The cooling pipe passes through the pump housing and the outer circumferential surface which is in close contact with the pump housing, is constituted by a sensitized layer. This vacuum pump is formed such that the pump housing constituted by cast iron is casted around the cooling pipe constituted by stainless steel. The sensitized layer is provided on the outer circumferential surface of the cooling pipe, the sensitized layer is in contact with the pump housing, and the pump housing is efficiently cooled.
