  • Patent number: 5810714
Abstract: An endoscopic apparatus comprising a solid-state image pickup device installed in an insert assembly, a signal transmission member for conducting the electric signal into which the solid-state image pickup device photoelectrically converts an optical image, and a flexible tube-like metal member that makes up part of the cover of the insert assembly and/or a flexible tube-like metal member that constitutes part of the universal cord, whereby the signal transmission member is inserted through the insert assembly member and the universal cord, the shield member that covers the signal transmission member is disposed at least in part of the insert assembly and/or part of the universal cord assembly, and the shield member and the metal members are set to be equipotential to each other.

  • Patent number: 5702347
Abstract: In an endoscope system including an endoscope having an insertion section and an operation section and a disposable protection cover having an insertion section cover having formed therein a forceps channel and a forceps inlet opening through which a forceps can be inserted into the forceps channel, said forceps inlet opening is selectively closed by a forceps plug which is made of resilient material and separately formed from the insertion section cover. The forceps plug is preferably formed such that it can be detachably secured to a forceps inlet opening of an ordinary coverless (without-cover) endoscope.

  • Patent number: 5191878
Abstract: An endoscope device has an endoscope provided with a front end portion where a nozzle and a sucking opening are formed. A first passage and a fluid supply pump are connected to the nozzle to supply fluid to it. A second passage and a suction pump are connected to the sucking opening. Connected to the first and second passages are a third passage and a pump for circulating the fluid in such a way that it is sucked through the sucking opening and jetted through the nozzle.

  • Patent number: 4936307
Abstract: In a probe for observing an ultrasonic image, which obtains the ultrasonic image of an object to be observed such as a body cavity by means of an ultrasonic transmitting and receiving means, a mechanical scanning operation of the ultrasonic transmitting and receiving means is performed by an ultrasonic driving means, and thus it is possible to obtain a good diagnosis image with no distortion and no flicker because noises of the driving means can be reduced. Therefore, an ultrasonic endoscope system and an ultrasonic video endoscope system etc. which utilize the probe mentioned above can display a good ultrasonic image and a good optical image.

  • Patent number: 4924852
Abstract: An endoscope, which has an insertion section with a moving part, comprises a stator for generating a surface wave as a combination of a transverse wave and a longitudinal wave; a rotor rotatably disposed facing the stator; an urging mechanism for bringing the rotor intimately into contact with the stator; a coupling member coupled to the rotor and adapted to cause the moving part of the endoscope to operate as the rotor rotates; and a disengaging mechanism for releasing the stator and the rotor from the intimate contact with each other.

  • Patent number: 4667655
Abstract: An endoscope includes a view window and a washing nozzle which are provided at the distal end of an insertion section extending from an operation section. Universal cord extends from the operation section, and a connector is fitted to the extended end of the cord. Air and liquid supply channels extend through the endoscope, each having one end connected to the nozzle and the other end opening to the connector. A selector valve is provided at the operation section and connected to the middle portions of the supply channels. An air-liquid supply device is connected to the connector. The device includes an air pump for supplying compressed air to the air supply channel, tank stored with water and a liquid pump for pressurizing the water in the tank to supply the water to the liquid supply channel.
