  • Publication number: 20230315049
Abstract: A method for generating improved machine control data. Event series is generated from input machine control data that is linked with a mesh data that is also generated from the input machine control data. Thus, an activation time (t_act) is determined which indicates the point in time at which the additive manufacturing machine prints a portion of the object that is represented by that mesh element. A full 3D-thermal simulation is run on the mesh elements. Each time the element temperature (T_el) exceeds a predetermined threshold, the activation time (t_act) is increased by a predetermined time increment and the event series is updated. Finally the event series is converted back to output machine control data.

  • Patent number: 11667077
Abstract: For increasing the speed in 3D printing, for avoiding the conveying elements slipping from the conveyed semi-finished product, and for improving the transmission of force from the conveying elements to the semi-finished products to be conveyed, a conveying installation is provided for an additive manufacturing machine. The conveying installation for conveying a semi-finished product comprises a longitudinal conveying mechanism which by means of a periodic movement of at least one conveying element conveys the semi-finished product along a conveying direction which is parallel to the semi-finished product longitudinal axis. The conveying element when moving in the conveying direction acquires the semi-finished product, and when moving counter to the conveying direction is released from the semi-finished product. This results in a movement of the semi-finished product in the conveying direction.

  • Publication number: 20230035834
Abstract: A method for the additive manufacture of a component within a receiving unit using a powdery material wherein, in one step, the powdery material is introduced into the receiving unit via a feed unit. In a further step, an oscillation is applied to the powdery material introduced into the receiving unit. In a further step, the oscillation is applied over a period of time to the powdery material introduced into the receiving unit until a predetermined distribution of the powdery material within the receiving unit is achieved. In a further step, at least a part of the powdery material within the receiving unit is solidified after the predetermined distribution of the powdery material has been achieved. An apparatus for the additive manufacture of a component within a receiving unit using a powdery material is also described.

  • Patent number: 11548213
Abstract: A method of using solid profile rods instead of the usual filament coils for additive manufacturing methods such as 3D printing for industrial applications such as aircraft manufacturing, and to enable a more rapid production of fiber-composite components. The additive manufacturing device, or the 3D printer which generates the component layer by layer, respectively, comprises a material magazine in which a plurality of profile rods are stored. The profile rods are pre-tailored and are adapted to the component layer by layer. The profile rods, when printing, are successively retrieved from the material magazine and, by way of an infeed installation, guided to the nozzle of the additive manufacturing installation and subsequently applied to the printing bed so as to form the component layer by layer.

  • Publication number: 20220379526
Abstract: An induction heated tool system for receiving and heating polymer-fiber components from a starting temperature to a target temperature includes a tool part having a receiving cutout, the tool part formed from a thermally dimensionally stable material so it has a coefficient of thermal longitudinal expansion less than 10×10?6 K?1, or less than 5×10?6 K?1, or less than 4×10?6 K?1 in the plane of the largest dimension of the receiving cutout, at temperatures between the starting and target temperatures. A receiving cutout for receiving a polymer-fiber component is in the tool part, the receiving cutout delimited by a receiving surface portion so a polymer-fiber component received in the receiving cutout can lie against the receiving surface portion. A susceptor element includes a ferromagnetic material with a first Curie temperature. The susceptor element is on a surface portion of the tool part outside the receiving cutout and the receiving surface portion.

  • Publication number: 20220332063
Abstract: Method for producing composite components having an undevelopable surface. To be able to maintain the tolerances when manufacturing especially large components in the case of composite components with undevelopable surfaces, it is proposed according to the invention to drape a cut-to-size blank on a molding tool and to determine the deviation of the cut-to-size blank edge from the setpoint cut-to-size edge. Then, on the basis of the deviation, a new cut-to-size blank edge is calculated, and a new cut-to-size blank is created and re-draped for examination purposes. The method is repeated until the deviations are below a tolerable threshold value. The method is furthermore carried out for each textile ply of the composite component.

  • Publication number: 20220194028
Abstract: A mold core for producing a component of fiber composite material with a cavity. The mold core makes a particularly simple and efficient demolding process possible by a mold core extending along a longitudinal axis and which is in the form of a hybrid core and which includes, viewed in a cross section perpendicular to the longitudinal axis, a first core portion and a second core portion, wherein the first core portion is formed from a first material with high stiffness and low coefficient of thermal expansion, and wherein the second core portion is formed from a second material that differs from the first material, and is configured such that, under predetermined conditions, its form changes in a predetermined manner such that removal of the mold core from a cavity in the cured component is made easier.

  • Publication number: 20220118719
Abstract: A component made of a fiber-reinforced plastic, having a first surface portion, a second surface portion and a transition portion, which is enclosed by the first surface portion and the second surface portion, wherein surface tangents to the first surface portion and the second surface portion are not parallel, at least in regions adjacent to the transition portion. The transition portion has a curvature adjoining the adjacent surface portions in a tangentially constant manner, wherein an arrangement of at least two layers made of a fiber-reinforced plastic extends from the first surface portion, over the transition portion, onto the second surface portion, and fibers at least of one of the layers run with an unchanging orientation on the first surface portion and the second surface portion and, on the transition portion, run in a laterally offset, inflected or curved manner along the running direction.
