A surface layer consisting essentially of a salt of a phosphoric alkyl ester compound with an alkylamine compound, which is represented by the following formula (1) or (2), and a fluorine-containing carboxylic acid ester compound is provided on the magnetic layer or on the inorganic protective layer: ##STR1## where: R.sup.1 and R.sup.2, which may be the same or different from each other, are a hydrocarbon or fluorinated hydrocarbon group having from 2 to 26 carbon atoms; R.sup.A, R.sup.B, R.sup.C and R.sup.D are hydrogen, or a hydrocarbon or fluorinated hydrocarbon group having not more than 26 carbon atoms; and m is 1 or 2.

    Abstract: A speed change control device for an automatic transmission is shown which comprises first, second and third shift valves, each having two switching positions for selectively carrying out application and releasing of hydraulic pressure to and from an oil chamber of a hydraulically operated friction element. First and second solenoid valves are employed each controlling an output of hydraulic pressure in accordance with an electric signal applied thereto. The first solenoid valve outputs a hydraulic pressure for controlling the switching operation of the second shift valve, and the second solenoid valve outputs a hydraulic pressure for controlling the switching operation of the first shift valve. A passage structure is further employed which applies the hydraulic pressure from the second solenoid valve to the third shift valve to control the switching operation of the same only when the second shift valve assumes one given position.

    Abstract: A novel magnetic disc and process for the preparation thereof is disclosed, comprising a nonmagnetic support having thereon a magnetic layer comprising ferromagnetic metal particles and a binder resin containing at least a vinyl chloride copolymer, wherein the crystallite size of the ferromagnetic metal particles as determined by X-ray diffraction method is 300 .ANG. or less, and the ratio .alpha. at the surface of the magnetic layer of the integrated intensity of the Cl-2P spectrum as determined by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy to that of the Fe-2P(3/2) spectrum is in the range of from 0.50 to 0.90. In a preferred embodiment, the vinyl chloride copolymer contains at least one polar group selected from the group consisting of --SO.sub.3 M, --OSO.sub.3 M, --PO.sub.3 M.sub.2, and --CO.sub.2 M wherein M represents hydrogen, an alkali metal or ammonium and at least one epoxy ring in the copolymer molecule.
