    Abstract: In order to improve the deformation behavior of a vacuum brake booster provided with force transmission pins that are used to transmit forces onto a body splashboard of a motor vehicle, the invention discloses that the force transmission pins are made up of two sections having different strength. To achieve a sufficiently low strength when a fastening screw is used for a first section, the first section is embodied as a hollow body, and the fastening screw extends only over the length of a second section of the pin. Because the first section is configured as a hollow body, the screw arranged in the second section can be actuated through the first section.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to a piston with a central valve, in particular for hydraulic boosters, the valve case (6) which is composed of a supporting insert (8) radially embraced by a valve seat (7). It is disadvantageous in some valve cases that sometimes the positive coupling between the two elements in axial direction is not sufficient. The present invention provides a remedy to this problem by using undercuts behind which the valve seat engages the supporting insert in both directions. In an advantageous improvement, the valve insert is of symmetrical design, and a sealing projection is shaped at the valve seat. The guidance of the valve tappet (19) is performed within the piston (1).

    Abstract: The invention relates to a load-sensitive twin brake power controller whose change-over pressure is determined by a lever through a rocking element. The housing is extruded. Traditionally, a large-volume cylindrical chamber for the accommodation of the rocking element and a circular dust cover seat are mill cut into the housing. Such a loss of material is avoided by the present invention in that in conjunction with the extruded profile section two housing projections are molded which are each provided with one groove. Between the latter the dust cover is pressed with a sheet metal ring against the housing until the sheet metal ring comes to be locked in the grooves.

    Abstract: A process for the manufacture of a master cylinder for hydraulic brake units of automotive vehicles. The starting material is a pasty material which is between solid and liquid. In the course of the casting procedure, thin material wall thicknesses are created in the regions of intended openings of the master cylinder, such as the breather bore (14) and the intake bore (5). The floating membrane (12) which forms during the casting process is removed by mechanical machining to open the duct which functions as the intake bore. The breather bore (14) which functions as the compensation bore is formed by a stamping operation.

    Abstract: A process for the precise adjustment of the lost travel of a piston in a master cylinder. Master cylinders typically include a number of components in spatial series arrangement, with all components having individual tolerances. The individual tolerances regarding the lost travel of the piston or pistons, can combine additively in the master cylinder. The resulting lost travel, hence, is relatively large and varies with individual master cylinders. The process provides that the lost travel of the piston or pistons in the master cylinder can be precisely adjusted and, hence, can be kept very low. The position of the piston or pistons is measured in the condition in which they just seal the associated equilibrium ports. Subsequently, the position of the pistons is calculated in consideration of the desired lost travels and, by adjustment of the force planes acting on the desired point, the resting position of the piston and pistons, respectively, is fixed to the desired distance.

The piston in the inactive position abut on stops in the housing under the action of a first and a second resetting spring and which, within the bore, confine a first and a second pressure chamber which are in communication with a first and a second unpressurized supply chamber via central valves that are open when in the inactive position. The first piston-resetting spring is anchored on the second piston, and its spring rate is greater than the spring rate of the second piston-resetting spring.

    Abstract: A pressure cylinder is disclosed having at least one master cylinder piston, provided with a compensating bore which is in connection with opposite sides of the piston and which is closable by a valve piston movable relative to the master cylinder piston. The valve piston is fastened at the end of an extensible central tension element which projects into the pressure chamber of the pressure cylinder and secures through two spring retainers a piston return spring at the master cylinder piston. In order to reduce the idle travel of the master cylinder, the distance between a stop and an abutment face on a flange of the cylinder is first determined and then added to a predetermined functional distance desired to be maintained between the abutment face and a pressure surface on an actuating piston, so that an assembled dimension is determined. The extensible element is adjusted during assembly to position the pressure surface spaced from the stop equal to the assembled dimension.
