Abstract: New amine derivatives of 4-hydroxy-2,1,3-benzthiadiazoles of the formula: ##STR1## wherein R is straight-chained or branched alkyl and the pharmacologically compatible salts thereof, that are markedly effected as inhibitors of adrenogenic .beta.-receptors and thus useful for the treatment and prophylaxis of cardiac and circulatory diseases.

Abstract: 4-Phenoxymethyl-piperidines of the formula ##STR1## wherein R is hydrogen, halogen, nitro, lower alkyl or lower alkoxy, in the form of the free base or an acid addition salt, are provided and they are useful as intermediates in the production of anti-hypertensive agents through condensation with (a) propyl chloride and then with an adenine, or (b) a propyl indole.

Abstract: New biguanide compounds of the formula: ##STR1## wherein A is saturated or unsaturated cycloaliphatic hydrocarbyl, and the physiologically compatible salts thereof; display outstanding anti-diabetic effectiveness in the treatment of diabetes mellitus, without showing the typical side effects of biguanide treatment, viz., lactacidosis.
