    Abstract: There is provided a light emitting diode package having at least two heat sinks. The light emitting diode package includes a main body, at least two lead terminals fixed to the main body, and at least two heat sinks of electrically and thermally conductive materials, the heat sinks being fixed to the main body. The at least two heat sinks are separated from each other. Thus, high luminous power can be obtained mounting a plurality of light emitting diode dies in one LED package. Further, it is possible to embody polychromatic lights mounting LED dies emitting different wavelengths of light each other in the LED package.

    Abstract: An LED driving circuit drives LCD backlight LEDs sequentially, reducing LCD display ripple noise without decreasing luminance. The LCD driving circuit includes an LED driving voltage generation unit that generates a driving voltage for a backlight LEDs; a PWM signal control unit that generates PWM output signals having a predetermined duty ratio, shifted at a predetermined time interval; and a switching unit that controls application of the driving voltage to LEDs, responsive to the PWM output signals. A backlight includes LEDs and the LED driving circuit. An LCD having the backlight, and a method for driving the backlight are included.

    Abstract: A liquid crystal display including upper and lower substrates facing each other, electrodes and alignment layers sequentially disposed on and between the upper and lower substrates, a liquid crystal layer interposed between the alignment layers, and a spacer for controlling the distance between the upper and lower substrates, wherein an ion-absorbing material layer coats the spacer. Since an adverse phenomenon caused by generation of ions or contaminants in a liquid crystal cell is prevented, the reliability of the liquid crystal display is improved. Blurriness is prevented from occurring on a displayed picture due to a change in the alignment characteristic of the liquid crystal material. Also, crosstalk and deterioration of contrast are prevented by suppressing a decrease in the specific resistance of the liquid crystal material.

    Abstract: A heat resistant polymer composition, an alignment layer formed using the same, and an LCD having the alignment layer are provided. The heat resistant polymer composition includes 10-25% by weight of a polyimide resin or polyamic acid, 0.1-1% by weight of an adhesive agent, and balance of a solvent. The adhesive agent improves thermal stability. Thus, the LCD having the alignment layer formed using the same can accomplish a desirable pre-tilt angle of liquid crystals and desirable alignment properties of liquid crystal molecules.
