More particularly the present invention relates to a hemorrhoid-treating composition which includes a mixture of the antiseptic and bactericide gentian violet (methylrosaniline) and a lubricant such as petroleum jelly, also known as petrolatum or mineral jelly. The composition imparts a soothing and healing effect on swollen hemorrhoids, and particularly, on bleeding hemorrhoids.
