  • Patent number: 9949724
Abstract: A specimen collection cup has a container. The container has a wall and a floor and is configured for receiving and retaining a specimen. A section of the wall is transparent. Further, the container has a tab coupled to an inside surface of the wall that creates a slot for receiving a test card having a reagent pad affixed thereto. The tab is coupled to the inside surface of the wall such that when the test card is inserted in the slot indicia on the test card is aligned with the transparent section.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: April 24, 2018
Assignee: Instant Tech Subsidiary Acquisition Inc.
    Inventor: Larry Hartselle
  • Patent number: 8865458
Abstract: The present invention includes but is not limited to a specimen collection device that includes a chamber capable of collecting a specimen, a specimen passage slot, a reservoir, a reservoir seal, and a test device. A sample or specimen added to the chamber flows through the specimen passage slot into the reservoir. Flow into the reservoir may be limited by the reservoir seal. The test device positioned within the reservoir detects the presence or concentration of an analyte within the sample or specimen.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: February 25, 2013
Date of Patent: October 21, 2014
    Assignee: Alere Switzerland GmbH
