  • Patent number: 4412832
Abstract: An assembly (10) for the implantation of a peelable introductor catheter (24) through which a primary device (30) may be inserted having a slidable sleeve (18), which prevents premature disruption of the peelable catheter tube (12) and which also remains in position on the primary device after the introductor catheter tube has been peeled apart. The slidable sleeve (18) remains in place over the implanted primary device thereby serving to reinforce the primary device at the proximal end while at the same time providing a site at which the primary device may be secured to the patient (28).
