  • Publication number: 20240062761
Abstract: Systems and methods for distinguishing valid voice commands from false voice commands in an interactive media guidance application. In some aspects, the interactive media guidance application receives, at a user device, a signature sound sequence. The interactive media guidance application determines, using control circuitry, based on the signature sound sequence, a threshold gain for the current location of the user device. The interactive media guidance application receives, at the user device, a voice command The interactive media guidance application determines, using the control circuitry, based on the voice command, a gain for the voice command. The interactive media guidance application determines, using the control circuitry, whether the gain for the voice command is different from the threshold gain.

  • Publication number: 20230421826
Abstract: Systems and methods for managing available bandwidth in a household are provided. A request to access a first media asset is received. A determination is made as to whether a bandwidth currently available in the household is sufficient for enabling access to the first media asset. When the bandwidth currently available in the household is insufficient for enabling access to the first media asset, a search is performed for a second media asset currently consuming a portion of the household bandwidth needed for enabling access to the first media asset. A third media asset is identified having a remaining duration that is more than a remaining duration of the second media asset. A message is displayed that indicates the bandwidth currently available in the household is insufficient to access the first media asset and that has an option to access the third media asset instead of the first media asset.

  • Patent number: 10503770
Abstract: Methods and systems for automatically generating a media clip library comprising preferred portions of media assets for a user. In one aspect, the system retrieves a profile of the user from memory. Based on the profile, the system identifies a preferred content type for the user. The system identifies a portion of a media asset matching the preferred content type and generates for display the portion of the media asset. The system receives a user input to interrupt the display of the portion of the media asset. Based on receiving the user input, the system retrieves a media clip library associated with user and updates the media clip library to include the portion of the media asset.

  • Publication number: 20170182283
Abstract: Methods and systems for enhancing sleep of a user. In some aspects, control circuitry receives a first input relating to a first sleep state. The control circuitry determines whether the first sleep state indicates the user has fallen asleep. In response to determining the user has fallen asleep, the control circuitry determines a first media asset corresponding to the first sleep state. The control circuitry generates for display the first media asset to enhance the user's sleep. The control circuitry receives a second input relating to a second sleep state. The control circuitry determines whether the second sleep state indicates the user is ready to be awakened. In response to determining the user is ready to be awakened, the control circuitry determines a second media asset corresponding to the second sleep state. The control circuitry generates for display the second media asset to awaken the user.

  • Patent number: 8853747
Abstract: A package is made of a transparent substrate having an interferometric modulator and a back plate. A non-hermetic seal joins the back plate to the substrate to form a package, and a desiccant resides inside the package. A method of packaging an interferometric modulator includes providing a transparent substrate and manufacturing an interferometric modulator array on a backside of the substrate. A back plate includes a curved portion relative to the substrate. The curved portion is substantially throughout the back plate. The back plate is sealed to the backside of the substrate with a back seal in ambient conditions, thereby forming a package.

  • Patent number: 8682130
Abstract: A package structure and method of packaging for an interferometric modulator. A thin film material is deposited over an interferometric modulator and transparent substrate to encapsulate the interferometric modulator. A gap or cavity between the interferometric modulator and the thin film provides a space in which mechanical parts of the interferometric modulator may move. The gap is created by removal of a sacrificial layer that is deposited over the interferometric modulator.
