  • Patent number: 10539286
Abstract: An automotive lighting system (41) includes an automotive lamp having an LED array (14) and a lens (34). The lens (34) images a square field of illumination (101) into rectangular field of illumination (48) to support adaptive front lighting in an automotive environment (28). The lens (34) includes light-transmissive first, second, and third regions (64, 66, 68), and a baffle (70) adapted to obstruct light from spreading between the light-transmissive first, second, and third regions (64, 66, 68). The baffle (70) is disposed between the LED array (14) and light receiving surfaces (98, 104, 110) of the light-transmissive first, second, and third regions (64, 66, 68). The lens (34) enables imaging of an approximately rectangular field of illumination (48) from a single chip (12), reducing cost and cooling needs of adaptive front lighting systems.

  • Patent number: 10123065
Abstract: The present disclosure involves systems, software, and computer implemented methods for personalizing media content. Personalization digital media templates can be retrieved that designate (i) particular types of media content to be combined with particular preselected digital video files and (ii) particular times within particular preselected digital video files at which the particular types of media content are to be combined with the particular preselected digital video files, the particular times being relative to the times within the preselected digital video files at which emotionally impactful moments occur. Digital media content can be assembled for the personalized digital video files using particular preselected digital video files, the digital media templates, and the personal digital media file. The assembled digital media content can be encoded using a common video codec to generate the personalized digital video files.

  • Patent number: 10110942
Abstract: A system for providing a social media platform to enhance the quality of online social interactions among users. The system includes first and second client computing devices that are running social media applications for the social media platform. Each social media application is programmed to provide a GUI that presents digital content retrieved over the internet from the social media platform and receive user inputs. The first client computing device is associated with a first user and the second client computing device is associated with a second user. A digital profile repository stores user profiles for the first and second users and a relationship profile for a relationship between the first and second users. A relationship history database stores historical interactions among the first and second users on the social media platform. A relationship concierge facilitate meaningful social interactions among the first and second client computing devices.

  • Patent number: 10066801
Abstract: A headlamp reflector 12, which accepts a conventional lamp capsule 10 having a sealing gasket 64, has a neck 2 defining a bore 40 and socket 50 to receive and retain lamp capsule 10 with capsule latching structure 52. Reflector neck 2 has a gasket seating surface 47 adjacent to which one or more recessed channels 43 are formed which define air passageways 70 that communicate between inner reflector cavity 19 and neck entrance region 46, allowing air passage past gasket 64 with capsule 10 retained in socket 50, while still allowing gasket 64 to position capsule 10 in reflector bore 40. Gasket seating surface 47 may be located displaced axially from capsule latching structure 52. Embodiments of reflector 12 accommodate a variety of popular, commercially available replaceable lamp capsules 10.

  • Publication number: 20060013011
Abstract: The subject invention relates to an automotive front lamp assembly with a reflector and a light source and relates to a manufacturing defect that causes a substantial amount of glare when light from the light source strikes it. The subject invention utilizes at least one glare prevention to cover or prevent the formation of the sink. In an exemplary embodiment, the glare prevention feature comprises a rib or half-sphere with a convex surface that has a sharp radius. The convex surface spreads out the light that reflects off it over a large area in order to prevent glare. In another embodiment of the subject invention, the glare prevention feature comprises a rib with a substantially perpendicular surface and an angled or curved surface. This embodiment prevents glare by redirecting most of the light that strikes its surfaces so that it is not emitted out of the front lamp assembly.
