    Abstract: A wireless system for monitoring portable articles includes a central alarm unit (CAU) comprising a programmed controller operatively associated with a CAU wireless communication circuit. At least one wireless sensor comprises a programmed controller operatively associated with a sensor wireless communication circuit for communicating with the CAU wireless communication circuit. A tamper detection circuit is configured to determine if the wireless sensor is in an operative state on a portable article being monitored. An alert signal device generates an alert signal in the event that the securing circuit determines that the wireless sensor is not in the operative state. A user input device receives a manual input command. The CAU is programmed to periodically determine distance between the wireless sensor and the CAU and operates in a programming mode and responsive to manual input commands to determine a normal distance of the article being monitored from the CAU.

With the portable electronic article in the display position on the support assembly and the guide assembly operatively connected to the support, the portable article can be reoriented relative to the support by moving the at least part of the support assembly together with the portable electronic device in the predetermined path.

The frame has first and second frame parts movable one relative to the other to change a dimension of a receiving space for a part of the first portable article. The frame is configured so that: a) relative movement can be effected between the first and second frame parts between: i) a first relationship wherein the receiving space has a first receiving dimension; and ii) a second relationship wherein the receiving space has a second receiving dimension that is less than the first receiving dimension; and b) the first and second frame parts upon being changed from the first relationship into the second relationship are blocked from changing from the second relationship back into the first relationship.

    Abstract: The combination of a portable article having a body with a peripheral edge and a support assembly for displaying the portable article. The support assembly has: a frame that supports the portable article in a display position; and a blocking assembly changeable between first and second states. With the blocking assembly in the first state, the portable article can be slide guidingly against the support assembly in a first direction along a first path from a pre-assembly position into the display position. The blocking assembly in the first state does not interfere with movement of the portable article moving in the first path. The blocking assembly in the second state blocks movement of the portable article in the display position along the first path oppositely to the first direction.
