    Abstract: The invention relates to a method for a wireless communication apparatus, and such an apparatus, configured to use a wake-up signal (WUS), transmitted for waking up a main receiver of a wireless communication device responsive to detection of the WUS by a wake-up receiver (WUR) of the wireless communication device. The method comprises controlling a bandwidth associated with the WUS based on a reception condition metric for the WUR. Embodiments may comprise determining the reception condition metric for the WUR by correlating a received signal comprising the WUS with a WUS reference signal to provide an extreme correlation value, and determining the reception condition metric for the WUR based on the extreme correlation value. In some embodiments, controlling the bandwidth associated with the WUS based on the reception condition metric may comprise controlling a WUS bandwidth based on the reception condition metric.

For one binary value of information to be transmitted, a first set of complex-valued frequency domain symbols is provided to an inverse fast Fourier transformer, or for the other binary value of information to be transmitted, a second set of complex-valued frequency domain symbols is provided to the inverse fast Fourier transformer. The inverse fast Fourier transform is performed to form an orthogonal frequency division multiplex, OFDM representation, including a cyclic prefix, of the OOK signal of information to be transmitted. The OFDM representation is then transmitted.

    Abstract: Embodiments include methods for an access point to schedule wireless communication devices. Such methods include performing link adaptation by assigning respective modulation and coding schemes (MCS) for the wireless communication devices. Each assigned MCS is associated with a corresponding power back-off. Such methods include scheduling the wireless communication devices on transmission resources based on assignment of the wireless communications devices into two or more groups. Each group is scheduled on different transmission resources than used to schedule other groups. First wireless communication devices assigned a first MCS and a first power back-off are assigned to a first group. Second wireless communications devices assigned a second MCS and a second power back-off, and that meet a grouping criterion associated with the first power back-off, are assigned to the first group until a maximum size for the first group is reached.
