  • Patent number: 4820889
Abstract: Apparatus in a trigger grip switch assembly for sequential actuation of first and second electrical switch banks. First and second actuating elements each have a base portion, a switch-actuating arm extending from the base portion, and a resilient pressure-transferring arm extending from the base portion at an acute angle to the respective switch-actuating arm. The respective base portions are mounted for pivotal movement relative to the respective first and second switches and for presenting the switch-actuating elements in respective proximity to the first and second switches for actuation thereof upon base portion pivoting movement and for presenting the pressure-transferring arms in mutually overlapping relation with a distal end portion of a first pressure-transferring arm in contact with a medial portion of a second pressure-transferring arm. The pressure-transferring arms form between them an angle at least slightly greater than 30 degrees to provide an over-centered stable relationship.

  • Patent number: 4758692
Abstract: A multiposition precision joystick type control device having a transducer mode in which an actuator button is movable in any lateral direction away from a neutral position to cause flexure of flexible bar mechanism along one or both of two orthogonally related axes, there being a set of transducers for sensing such flexure and providing a coordinate-related signal to apparatus to be controlled, the control device having a depress mode in which the actuator button is axially depressed for actuation of a switch and thereby providing an alternate controlling function. Overload mechanism including a spring loaded articulated connection between the actuator button and the flexible bar mechanism limits the degree of flexure which can be imparted to the flexible bar mechanism by movement of the actuator button in any lateral direction from its neutral position to prevent damage to the sets of transducers.

  • Patent number: 4572477
Abstract: A compact, regulated gas flow control valve includes a valve body having a clamp for securement to a high pressure gas cylinder. An inlet at one end receives the high pressure gas from the cylinder. A piston-actuated regulator drops the high pressure to a low pressure, maintaining the low pressure at a substantially constant delivery value. An outlet and a flow control selector knob are located at the other end of the valve body. The knob selects a preselected flow rate for delivery of the low pressure gas by the outlet. The knob controls position of a rotor carrying a plurality or precalibrated flow control orifice inserts, the knob being rotatable but with positive detenting for orienting the rotor to permit flow only through a selected one of the orifice inserts for delivery by said outlet. The sequence of orifice inserts defines a preselected schedule of different flow rates upon rotation of the said selector knob.
