  • Patent number: 10556328
Abstract: The mechanical technology of converting oscillatory motion, into one direction of rotation, as described and claimed in U.S. Pat. No. 5,881,609, while being efficient, useful and having numerous applications, has its disadvantage of not being able to function unless user employs both hands; one hand to apply oscillatory motion to an input, while opposite hand immobilizes the axial rotation of the converting gear-train, in order for the conversion to be activated. Hence, the goal of this documentation, is to teach several different means, that maintain the immobility of axial rotation of the dual-drive gear train in order to activate the dual-drive feature, without the use of either of user's hands, thereby conveniently leaving one of user's hands available for holding a work piece.

  • Patent number: 9333630
Abstract: The invention is a dual-drive, self-ratcheting multiple input ports mechanism, that converts oscillatory motion applied to its input, to unidirectional axial rotation motion at its output and is able to be switched to produce solely clockwise rotation at its output, regardless of the direction of rotation applied to the input and is able to be switched to produce solely counterclockwise rotation at its output, regardless of the direction of rotation applied to the input and is provided with a detachable input handle, that can be coupled to said multiple input ports.

  • Patent number: 5881609
Abstract: A reversing-input bidirectional-output drive mechanism having a single one-piece drive-shaft serving as the input and the output and mounted by a first pair of cylindrical one-way roller-clutches arranged in-line and caused to alternately clutch only the pair of bosses of drive-shaft to drive the entire drive-shaft in clockwise rotation and a second pair of cylindrical one-way roller-clutches arranged in-line and caused to alternately clutch only the same pair of bosses of drive-shaft to drive the entire drive-shaft in counter-clockwise rotation with the one-piece drive-shaft being caused to shift by sliding longitudinally from one pair of roller-clutches to the other pair with a set of four meshing mitre gears being provided with one mitre-gear rotatably mounted to drive-shaft and coupled to an oppositely disposed pair of roller-clutches and a second mitre-gear rotatably mounted to drive shaft and coupled to its own oppositely disposed pair of roller-clutches and two ring mitre-gears facing opposite each oth

  • Patent number: 5662009
Abstract: A drive mechanism provided with a forward and reverse input and a forward and reverse drive whereby a single output-member is caused to produce forward drive from forward-rotation, reverse-rotation and oscillatory-rotation applied to a single input-member whereby the reverse-rotation applied to the input-member is mechanically converted to usable forward drive through an arrangement of gears and one-way clutches and thereby doubling the efficiency of the input and drive while the single output-member can also be caused to produce reverse drive from forward-rotation, reverse-rotation and oscillatory-rotation applied to the input-member whereby the forward-rotation applied to the input is mechanically converted to usable reverse drive through an arrangement of gears and one-way clutches with forward drive being achieved by an identical pair of geared and spring-loaded pivotable selector mechanisms at the input and output end of the device pivotting into simultaneous engagement with the geared input member and a

  • Patent number: 5004362
Abstract: A mechanical pencil which employs the concept of inverting the configuration of a conventional mechanical pencil by designating the depressible end as the writing end and the stationary end as the eraser and thereby providing the convenience of advancing the lead as required without interrupting the writing process and requiring slightly more than the effort of dotting the letter "i" or adding a period at the end of a sentence.
