  • Patent number: 5577452
Abstract: The new table locking apparatus has opposed bolts, each connected to a rigid link for axial bolt movement. In the improvement, each link is pinned to an operating rod and the operating rod is coupled to a hand-operated toggle mechanism for bolt movement. The toggle mechanism provides positive control of bolt position. The apparatus is particularly useful with tables of the type stored in wall pockets and used in schools and other institutions.

  • Patent number: 4586398
Abstract: A foot control assembly for use with power-driven equipment having reversible electrically-actuated operations such as, for example, power-operated medical examination tables and chairs. The assembly includes a base housing located along a floor surface adjacent to the equipment with which it is operatively connected. A plurality of actuating members are mounted upon the housing, such members being spaced laterally apart to define at least one operating station therebetween. Each station is wide enough to receive at least the front or toe portion of an operator's foot. The actuating members are horizontally movable and are shifted by lateral contact with an operator's foot to actuate either of a pair of reversible power operations associated with each station.

  • Patent number: 4552403
Abstract: A power-operated medical examination table having safety mechanisms for preventing injury or damage should someone or something become entrapped beneath the top of the table as it descends. The table includes a pedestal base having an extendable and retractable column. The top normally rests upon a load-bearing member which may be selectively raised or lowered under power to extend or retract the column. Should the top engage an obstruction during a lowering operation so that a separation occurs between the load-bearing member and the top, a sensor detects such separation and immediately interrupts power to prevent continued retraction of said load-bearing member. The table also includes at least one power-operated outer top section that is hinged to the central top section and is supported by a second load-bearing member and power drive arranged to constitute a secondary safety mechanism.

  • Patent number: 4547092
Abstract: An improved clamp for releasably and adjustably securing accessories, such as hanger rods for parenteral solution containers, to medical tables. The clamp has a generally cylindrical body comprising two main sections arranged in axial alignment: a base section and a cup section. Annular rows of intermeshing teeth are provided along the opposing end faces of the respective sections to prevent relative rotation of those sections unless such movement is accompanied by slight axial separation. The cup section includes a chamber terminating in an enlarged end opening that rotatably receives the cylindrical shank of a first operating knob. The knob is threadedly supported upon a hollow stem which is joined at one end to the base section and which extends axially through the chamber of the cup section.

  • Patent number: 4130069
Abstract: A vertically-adjustable drafting table having a base with a pair of telescoping support columns defining an open area between the columns suitable for accommodating any of a variety of modular storage unit combinations. Vertical adjustment of the table top occurs through synchronized and counterbalanced extension and retraction of the telescoping support columns, such synchronizing and counterbalancing being achieved by mechanism housed completely within the base assembly.

  • Patent number: 4108086
Abstract: A drafting board and its support structure wherein the board may be easily mounted upon and removed from the support structure by only one person, even though the board may be too bulky or heavy to be lifted in its entirety by that person. On-site assembly and disassembly are therefore simplified and expedited.
