Abstract: A method for online, real-time, continuous replication of a database includes a process for initially copying a database from one or more source servers to a destination server, processes for scanning database transaction log files and database data files to identify when data has changed, processes for replicating changed data from the source server to the destination server, and processes to ensure that the source and destination databases are continually synchronized. The inventive method is self-healing and can recover and resume without loss of data even if the replication process is slowed, interrupted, or halted.
