  • Publication number: 20040155174
Abstract: A method for measuring optoelectronic characterstics of an organic light emitting diode. A computer, a power supply and a cavity are provided. The cavity has a tooling, on which at least one photodiode is mounted. A high temperature, high humidity, or high temperature and humidity condition is applied to the cavity. The computer is used to control the power supply for supplying a current or a voltage to the organic light emitting diode to generate a light with a brightness. A signal carrying brightness information of the light is then transmitted to the computer (two signals with different brightness have to be input to the computer first) for performing data process.

  • Publication number: 20040140584
Abstract: Disclosed is a cold-water soluble starch and a process for preparing same. Generally, the process comprises providing a hydroxyalkyl starch and applying a shearing force to the starch in an extruder in the presence of moisture, the force and the moisture each being sufficient to gelatinize at least substantially all of the granules of the starch to thereby form a sheared starch. The starch is heated to its gelatinization temperature after the starch has passed partially through the barrel of the extruder, with the moisture being maintained at a level sufficiently high to allow gelatinization but sufficiency low to protect the starch from becoming too sticky to extrude. The extruded starch product thus formed may be used in connection with a number of film-forming, coating, and other applications.

  • Publication number: 20040080756
Abstract: A beamsplitter (16) splits a source beam (14) into a sample path (17) and a reference path (19). The reflected beams recombine to form an interference signal (100). Reference surface (20) is horizontaly suspended on a loudspeaker membrane (30), and moved via a voice coil attached to the membrane (30). this arrangement isolates the reference surface (20) from external vibrations. The surface profile of the sample (18a) is analysed via the interference fringes, which are determined by computing maxima or minima in the statistical variance of digital data representing the interference signal (100). The apparatus may be used for calibrating laser ablation procedures in eye surgery.

  • Publication number: 20040047428
Abstract: A differential signal transmitter including a driver circuit that generates a differential signal in response to data input. The amplitude of the voltage swings in the differential circuit is controlled by an electrical bias. Two data inputs, one being the original Data and the other being Data bar, are connected to the transistors and cause the required current swings. The transmitter further includes a control circuit with an input for a single-bit control line for adjusting the bias to produce different swing amplitudes according to a control indicator inputted from the control line. The control circuit inputs one or more current sources and outputs the sum of one or more of the current sources according to the control indicator and the outputted current is used as the electrical bias.

  • Patent number: 6692397
Abstract: A joint has a first leaf having an inner gear and a second leaf having an external gear meshing with the inner gear. A stub with a wedge-shaped outer periphery is formed on the first leaf. A driving member is non-rotatably attached to a shaft and rotatably received between the leaves. A supporting base is mounted between the leaves and is actuated by the driving member. At least one driven wedge-shaped segment is mounted around the stub. Each segment has an inner wedge-shaped surface to mate with the outer wedge-shaped outer periphery of stub. A wedge arrangement is arranged between the supporting base and each segment to raise the segment as the driving member is rotated with the shaft. Accordingly, the angle between the leaves can be adjusted, and the shaking of the second leaf with respect to the first leaf can be prevented.

  • Publication number: 20040016812
Abstract: Disclosed is an automatically-activated wireless code symbol reading system comprising a bar code symbol reading mechanism contained within a hand-supportable housing having a manually-activatable data transmission switch. During symbol reading operations, the bar code symbol reading mechanism automatically generates a visible laser scanning pattern for repeatedly reading one or more bar code symbols on an object during a bar code symbol reading cycle, and automatically generating a new symbol character data string in response to each bar code symbol read thereby. During system operation, the user visually aligns the visible laser scanning pattern with a particular bar code symbol on an object (e.g. product, bar code menu, etc.) so that the bar code symbol is scanned, detected and decoded in a cyclical manner.
