  • Publication number: 20220061135
Abstract: Aspects of the subject technology relate to electronic devices having a display. The display includes a channel of light emitting diodes (LEDs) having controllable brightness levels and control circuitry coupled to the channel of LEDs. The control circuitry provides a pulse width modulated (PWM) signal having a duty cycle to control the brightness levels. An adaptive headroom control circuitry is configured to sense a headroom voltage signal for the channel of LEDs and apply a first time period for blanking the headroom voltage signal during the first time period that is associated with a settling time for the headroom voltage signal.

  • Patent number: 6850871
Abstract: A method and apparatus that utilize time-domain measurements of a nonlinear device produce or extract a behavioral model from embeddings of these measurements. The method of producing a behavioral model comprises applying an input signal to the nonlinear device, sampling the input signal to produce input data, measuring a response of the device to produce output data, creating an embedded data set, fitting a function to the embedded data set, and verifying the fitted function. The apparatus comprises a signal generator that produces an input signal that is applied to the nonlinear device, the device producing an output signal in response. The apparatus further comprises a data acquisition system that samples and digitizes the input and output signals and a signal processing computer that produces an embedded data set from the digitized signals, fits a function to the embedded data set, and verifies the fitted function.

  • Publication number: 20040070529
Abstract: A method and apparatus preconditions an analog signal and converts the preconditioned signal into a digital representation. The method comprises preconditioning the analog signal, generating a quantity N of reference signals, comparing an amplitude of the preconditioned signal to an amplitude of the reference signals to determine whether the preconditioned signal amplitude is greater than, less than or equal to reference signal amplitudes, and producing a timestamp at a time that the preconditioned signal and reference signal amplitudes are equal. The apparatus comprises a preconditioner, a reference signal generator and a quantity N of comparators. A comparator of the quantity N of comparators receives the preconditioned signal from the preconditioner, separately receives a reference signal, and produces a digital signal. The preconditioned signal or the analog signal may be reconstructed from the digital representation.
