  • Patent number: 4938311
Abstract: A kit for use with 2.times.4 and 2.times.6 wood pieces to make sawhorses. The legs are constructed for bent metal rods and are secured to brackets or support assemblies that are dimensioned to receive and support the wood piece. A minimal number of nails or screws for securing the wood to the brackets complete the manufacture. In addition, the legs are pivotally secured and may be folded against the wood pieces for storage or transport.

  • Patent number: 4917322
Abstract: A cart for spools of wire for transport or dispensing in which the main rigid "U"-shaped handle has an integral lockable hinge on one leg that can be unlocked to enable the leg to be swung away and thereby permit the wheels and wire spool to be removed. The wheels also preferably contain angled spokes to minimize entaglement of the wire during paying.

  • Patent number: 4858373
Abstract: A small animal trap formed as a walled enclosure having an opening for rodent entry, a plunger in the enclosure parallel to the bottom, and a spring for urging the plunger toward the bottom. A bottom trigger pedal is inside the enclosure, a pivotally mounted cocking lever extends from the inside upper part of the enclosure outside thereof to terminate outside at or near the bottom of the enclosure. The tripper pedal is pivotally connected to the enclosure by a short lever that extends outward of the trap and is releasibly engagable with the cocking lever. When the plunger is raised the cocking lever engages the under side of the plunger and also the short lever on the trigger pedal. Upsetting the pedal releases the cocking lever and the plunger. The cocking lever has a long arm and a short arm, the long arm being used to latch the trigger. The short arm which is activated by a rodent is located in the lower part of the enclosure.

  • Patent number: 4856756
Abstract: A valve assembly for draining water from a well pipe to facilitate the flushing of the pipe or to reduce its weight when removing the pipe from the well without separating the components of the pumping system which are all securely connected. The valve assembly is positioned in an axial line just above the down hole pipe. The assembly includes a short pipe section having drainage ports. A tight fitting sleeve circumscribes the pipe section. The sleeve is spring biased continually urging the sleeve in a downward or closed position. A means is provided that is connected to the sleeve and extends upwardly to the surface where it may be accessed to manually open and close the ports.

  • Patent number: 4844423
Abstract: A Portable Cattle Guard is provided which includes an assembled rectangularly shaped base member. Contained within the confines of the base member are a pair of inclined spring biased cattle ramps moveably connected along their longitudinal axis to provide a slight apex when in the relaxed state. The base member includes a pair of hollow vertical posts having inwardly facing guide slots cut therein. Each hollow post contains a coiled spring fixed at its upper end to the upper section of the post. The other end of the spring is connected to an end section of a leading bar of one of the ramps which is sufficiently extended to enter each of the guide slots. When a vehicle is driven on the spring-biased ramp, the ramp is flattened so that it is substantially parallel with the ground surface. When the vehicle passes over the ramp, the extended spring returns the ramp to its normal relaxed apex forming position.

  • Patent number: 4828074
Abstract: A portable scaffold in sections to be secured to the top of a pick-up bed sidewall. The scaffold has a lower section with a base to be secured to the top edge of the sidewall, upstanding vertical posts and cross members between the posts. An upper section, similar to the lower section, is hinged to the top of the vertical posts so that it may swing from a hanging down storage position to a vertical positon which a sleeve over the aligned posts couples the upper and lower sections together. Cross braces add rigidity to the erected scaffold. The upper scaffold section can also be supported by separate adjustable braces in a horizontal or other intermediate positions as it rotates about the hinge.

  • Patent number: 4537555
Abstract: A vehicle undercarriage spare tire carrier having a roll bar secured adjacent the storage position of the tire, a pulley assembly secured on the rear bumper of the vehicle, a lever arm pivotally secured to the rear bumper of the vehicle in spaced relation with respect to the pulley assembly, a bracket removably securable to the wheel of the spare tire, a flexible cable secured between the bracket and the lever arm and passing over the roll bar and around the pulley assembly whereby pivoting of the lever arm in one direction lowers the spare tire from the storage position for releasing of the tire for retrieval thereof, and pivoting of the lever arm in an opposite direction pulls the tire into the storage position thereof, and a latching bracket secured to the rear bumper of the vehicle and engagable by the lever arm for locking the lever arm in the position thereof which locks the tire in the storage position.
