  • Patent number: 8185106
Abstract: A method of accessing base station (BS) by subscriber station (SS) includes: after scanning signals of certain BS, SS starts ranging procedure and sends ranging request to the BS; the BS checks whether the SS belongs to the BS, if not belonging to the BS, then sends terminating ranging response to the SS; the SS interrupts the ranging procedure with the BS after receiving the terminating ranging response, and re-selects a new channel for ranging until accessing a proper BS. The above method overcomes the fault that SS may be not access a network and also may be not exit from other network under the condition of requiring SS to access fixed BS in the prior art, and solves access problem when SS is located in the area overlapping among more than two base stations.

  • Publication number: 20090240811
Abstract: A resource management (RM) method, an RM system, and a network equipment are described. The network equipment is directly or indirectly connected to a UE via at least one user link. The network equipment includes a receiving unit and an RM unit. The receiving unit receives a resource request triggered by the UE or a network side equipment when a user requests a first service by the UE. The RM unit includes: a resource admission control module, adapted to provide the UE with a resource admission control function containing the first service according to the resource request; a determination module, adapted to determine whether sufficient available user link resources are reserved for the first service; and a resource coordination module, adapted to coordinate occupied user link resources to meet requirements of the first service if the determination module determines that the available user link resources are insufficient.

  • Publication number: 20070211659
Abstract: The present invention is related to a method for implementing EAP authentication relay in a wireless access system. During the EAP authentication process, an authentication protocol of the EAP over a wireless medium runs between the Supplicant and the Authentication Relay, the EAPoL protocol runs between the Authentication Relay and the Authenticator, and the Authentication Relay performs the transformation between the authentication protocol of EAP over wireless medium and EAPoL. The method in this present invention may facilitate the interoperability between the Authentication Relays and the Supplicants from various vendors, as well as make better use of the current Ethernet access and aggregation network. The present invention can work under the current framework of a fixed access network without much modification.
