A video record/playback manager is to control recording of the videos and the associated bookmarks and to present the program by playing the at least a subset of the associated bookmarks for the one or more of the recorded videos. Playback of each of the at least a subset of the associated bookmarks is to end at the assigned endpoint.

The device also includes at least one processor and an input-output (I/O) interface over which the file transfer application transfers content. The device also includes a protocol stack that is executable by the processor. The protocol stack includes a file transfer application layer, a transport protocol layer that does not include native support for security, and a security emulation layer located between the file transfer application layer and the transport protocol layer. The security emulation layer is executed in the transport protocol layer.

The method includes recording content containing a pre-transition service and a post-transition service, in which the pre-transition service occurs prior to the service transition point and the post-transition service occurs after the service transition point. The method also includes generating a content change file having content change records associated with the pre-transition service, the service transition point, and the post-transition service, and communicating the content and the content change file to a playback device configured to play the recorded content.

Abstract: Described herein are systems and methods for providing call features of a telephone service to a user device, such as a television set top box or a personal computer, by using a multimedia terminal adapter to establish a first network connection with a call management server (CMS) and a second network connection with an application server associated with the user device so as to receive and forward call features and requests for such call features between the CMS and the user device without the need for an interface between the CMS and the application server.

Abstract: A method for receiving a caller identification (ID) number on an electronic device in a communication network (100) is provided. The communication network includes a plurality of electronic devices (104 and 106) and a plurality of network elements (102). The method includes receiving a signal from a first electronic device. The first electronic device has a primary caller ID number and at least one alternate caller ID number. The method also includes sending the alternate caller ID number to a second electronic device, based on the signal received from the first electronic device.
