Abstract: A shielding or masking device for use in conjunction with an X-ray radiation generating source comprised of radiopaque material having a vertically oriented opening having a broader portion twice the width of the upper, narrower portion nearer its distal or lower end to block entirely or confine radiation dosage to a specific area of a subject under observation or inspection and to prevent unnecessary and excessive radiation dosages to the subject during full spine radiographs.

Abstract: A shielding means for an X-ray machine or the like comprised of a base plate which removably receives shielding members masking out selective portions of the base plate to control the passage of X-rays therethrough. The shielding members are of various types and are provided with adjustable and removable securing means to position the shields on the base plate. Removable mounting means position and maintain the shielding means on the X-ray machine.

Abstract: A shielding means for an x-ray machine comprised of a base plate which removably receives overlays masking out selective portions of the base plate to control the passage of the x-rays therethrough. The overlays are generally identical and provided with co-operating removable securing means to permit the same to be stacked one on the other to vary the thickness thereof. Removable mounting rails position and maintain the shielding means on the x-ray machine.
