  • Patent number: 4923506
Abstract: A controlled release composition of biologically active materials is prepared by reacting a biologically active agent, aqueous polyhydroxy polymer, inorganic salt, and optional filler(s), drying the product and then grinding the product to the desire particle size. The product is then used, for example, for controlling pests.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 28, 1988
Date of Patent: May 8, 1990
    Assignee: Pennwalt Corporation
Inventors: Ludwig K. Huber, Harold G. Monsimer
  • Patent number: 4899249
Abstract: A dielectric medium composition comprising a fluorine-containing amide or a fluorine-containing sulfonamide and capacitors or other electric devices incorporating said composition, are disclosed herein.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 21, 1988
Date of Patent: February 6, 1990
    Assignee: Pennwalt Corporation
Inventors: James L. Reilly, Ludwig K. Huber, Gordon R. Leader
  • Patent number: 4657582
Abstract: A biologically active agent-containing composition is prepared by reacting an aqueous emulsion or dispersion of a suitable biologically active agent and an optional filler in an aqueous solution or gel of a polyhydroxy polymer and an inorganic salt, with a boric acid or boric acid derivative until an insolubilized matrix phase is formed having entrapped therein uniformly dispersed, discontinuous domains of said agent and an optional aqueous phase that can be separated from the matrix phase by decanting, filtration, or the like; the product is then dried and ground to the desired particle size. The composition is applied to the soil or plants where the biologically active agent is slow released for controlling pests.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: May 30, 1985
Date of Patent: April 14, 1987
    Assignee: Pennwalt Corporation
    Inventor: Ludwig K. Huber
  • Patent number: 4649167
Abstract: Compounds having the formula ##STR1## where R.sup.1, R.sup.2, R.sup.3, R.sup.4, and R.sup.5 are independently selected from hydrocarbons, n is an integer of 1 to 15, and Y is H, OH, O, R where R is a hydrocarbon are useful as stabilizers for polymers against the detrimental effects produced by exposure to actinic radiation, such as visible or ultraviolet light rays.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: November 14, 1985
Date of Patent: March 10, 1987
    Assignee: Pennwalt Corporation
Inventors: Ludwig K. Huber, James L. Reilly
