  • Patent number: 11938709
Abstract: The present disclosure includes a process for making a package having a spout. The process includes heating a sealing area of a spout to a temperature at or above a melting point of the spout material; heating two multilayer structures around a portion of their peripheries to adhere the peripheries of sealant layers and form a partially sealed package having an opening; inserting the heated spout into the opening; and pressing opposing surfaces of the two multilayer structures around the spout to close the opening around the spout. Each multilayer structure includes a multilayer film having the sealant layer having at least 40% by weight of an ethylene-based polymer having a melting point below 112 C; an external layer including an ethylene-based polymer; and at least one intermediate layer disposed between the sealant layer and the external layer having a melting point at least 15 C higher than the sealant layer.

  • Publication number: 20210079311
Abstract: The present disclosure provides a composition. The composition contains (A) an ethylene-based polymer; (B) a carboxylic-functionalized ethylene-based polymer; and (C) from 0.5 wt % to 5.0 wt % of a polydimethylsiloxane, based on the total weight of the composition. The present disclosure also provides a film with a layer containing said composition.

  • Publication number: 20200148455
Abstract: The present disclosure provides a flexible container (10). In an embodiment, the flexible container comprises a first multilayer film (12) and a second multilayer film (14). Each multilayer film comprises a seal layer. The multilayer films are arranged such that seal layers oppose each other and the second multilayer film is superimposed on the first multilayer film. The films are sealed along a common peripheral edge (16) to form a closed chamber (18). In one embodiment, a free moving sheet of three-dimensional random loop material (3DRLM) is located the closed chamber. In another embodiment, an oversized sheet (128) of 3DRLM is located in the closed chamber.

  • Patent number: 8272511
Abstract: An article of commerce includes a disposable cleaning article and a package. The package exhibits soft visual and sound characteristics. The package is formed as a multilayer packaging film including at least a co-extruded vapor barrier film layer and a polymeric film layer having a melting point at least about 20° C. less than the co-extruded film layer. The polymeric film layer is sealable to form the package so as to enclose the disposable cleaning article, thereby to substantially retain the water content of the disposable cleaning article. The polymeric film layer further exhibits a corrected sound level of less than approximately 50 decibels at readily audible frequencies, such as 3-5 kHz. The reduced sound level may be achieved by providing a film with a high loss tangent. In addition, the multilayer packaging film may have an outer surface with a soft or “matte” appearance.

  • Publication number: 20070259138
Abstract: A wet tissue packing for wet tissues consisting of a multilayer imprinted film which is adapted to form a sealed bag. The film is formed as a co-extrusion film and the inside surface of the bag is formed from a sealing layer of the co-extrusion film and the outside surface of the bag is formed from an imprintable outer layer of the co-extrusion film. At least portions of the outer layer are imprinted, and the outer layer is provided with a protective lacquer.
