  • Publication number: 20230337116
Abstract: A wireless communication system transfers signaling messages between a wireless access node and a wireless user device. The wireless access node and the wireless user device wirelessly exchange user data with one another. The wireless communication system establishes a node signaling link with the wireless access node. The wireless communication system establishes a user signaling link with the wireless user device. The wireless communication system receives a signaling message from the wireless access node over the node signaling link and transfers the signaling message to the wireless user device over the user signaling link. The wireless communication system receives another signaling message from the wireless user device over the user signaling link and transfers the other signaling message to the wireless access node over the node signaling link.

  • Patent number: 11792628
Abstract: A wireless communication system delivers a data service to a wireless User Equipment (UE). A network controller exchanges UE signaling with the wireless UE and transfers UE information to a Network Exposure Function (NEF). The NEF transfers network information that indicates Quality-of-Service (QoS) levels and cost levels for the UE to a user data system. The NEF receives user selections from the user data system that indicate a selected QoS level and a selected cost level. The NEF indicates the selected QoS level to the network controller. The NEF indicates the selected cost level to a Charging Function (CHF). The network controller directs network elements to transfer UE data for the UE using the selected QoS level. The network elements transfer the user data for the UE using the selected QoS level. The CHF generates charging data for the UE based on the selected cost level.

  • Patent number: 11784965
Abstract: In a wireless communication network, a Domain Name System (DNS) receives an Access Point Identifier (AP ID) for an access point that serves a User Equipment (UE). The DNS converts the AP ID into an Access Gateway Identifier (AGW ID) that comprises a location identifier. The DNS selects an External Gateway Identifier (EGW ID) that comprises the location identifier. The access gateway receives control signals having the AGW ID and exchanges user data between the access point and the external gateway to serve the UE. The co-located external gateway receives additional control signals having the EGW ID and exchanges the user data between the access gateway and an external system to serve the UE.

  • Publication number: 20230315550
Abstract: In a wireless communication network, a wireless network controller authenticates a wireless receiver and transfers receiver instructions and Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) for wireless network slices to the wireless receiver. An item wirelessly transmits a network identifier (ID) and a product ID. The wireless receiver wirelessly detects the network ID and the product ID from the item at a geographic location. The receiver selects an API for a wireless network slice based on the receiver instructions and the network ID. The receiver transfers an API call to the wireless network slice. The wireless network slice selects a distributed Application (dAPP) based on the network ID, the product ID, and/or the geographic location for the item. The wireless network slice transfers the network ID, the product ID, and the geographic location for the item to selected dAPP.

  • Patent number: 11765701
Abstract: A method and system for dynamically reconfiguring an air interface that defines a continuum of frames each divided into a sequence of transmission time intervals (TTIs). The air interface is initially configured according to a first radio access technology (RAT). The base station then detects that at least a threshold extent of wireless client devices (WCDs) served by the base station on the air interface support operation according to a second RAT. And in response, the base station reconfigures the air interface so that certain TTIs per frame instead operate on a second RAT, with the remaining TTIs per frame still operating on the first RAT. The base station then serves WCDs that support the second RAT in the TTIs now configured according to the second RAT, while continuing to serve other WCDs according to the first RAT in the remaining TTIs configured according to the first RAT.

  • Publication number: 20230269631
Abstract: A communication network receives inbound device context for an inbound wireless communication device from a source network. The communication network detects when the inbound wireless communication device attaches to a target Non Third Generation Partnership Project (non-3GPP) access node, and in response, retrieves the inbound device context for the inbound wireless communication device. The communication network transfers network signaling to serve the inbound wireless communication device over the target non-3GPP access node based on the inbound device context. The communication network determines outbound device context for an outbound wireless communication device for a data session over a source non-3GPP access node. The communication network detects when the outbound wireless communication device detaches from the source non-3GPP access node to handover to a target network, and in response, transfers the outbound device context for the outbound wireless communication device to the target network.

  • Patent number: 11729136
Abstract: To serve User Equipment (UEs) in a wireless communication network, a control-plane transfers a co-located User Plane Function (UPF) request for a wireless access point ID to a naming system. The naming system detects a co-location translation fault for the wireless access point ID and transfers the wireless access point ID to a controller. The controller determines co-located UPFs for the wireless access node. The controller transfers co-location translation information for the wireless access point ID and co-located UPF IDs to the naming system. The control-plane transfers another co-located UPF request for the wireless access point ID to the naming system. The naming system translates the wireless access point ID into the set of co-located UPF IDs. The naming system transfers the co-located UPF IDs to the control-plane. The control-plane signals the co-located UPFs to serve the UE over the wireless access point.

  • Publication number: 20230252405
Abstract: A wireless communication system tracks an item that wirelessly transfers a Fifth Generation Identifier (5GID) and a Global Trade Item Number (GTIN). Transceivers wirelessly detect the 5GID and the GTIN and transfer messages indicating the 5GID and the GTIN to a ledger gateway. The ledger gateway receives the messages and selects a distributed application in a distributed ledger node based on the 5GID and/or the GTIN. The ledger gateway proposes an item-tracking transaction with the 5GID and the GTIN to the selected distributed application in the distributed ledger node. The distributed ledger node and distributed application execute the proposed item-tracking transaction with the 5GID and the GTIN to generate an item-tracking result and store the item-tracking result in a blockchain format.
