  • Publication number: 20140314576
Abstract: A wind turbine blade holding arrangement is described comprising a root frame for securing to a root portion of a blade; an airfoil clamp for arranging about an airfoil portion of the blade; and an airfoil frame for supporting the airfoil clamp wherein the root frame and tip clamp are realized for use in a first blade orientation in a first storage and transport stage of the blade and also for use in a second blade orientation in a second storage and transport stage of the blade, wherein the first and second blade orientations are essentially at right angles to each other. A method of handling a number of wind turbine blades is also described.

  • Publication number: 20130319891
Abstract: An arrangement is provided for holding blades for a wind turbine. The arrangement includes a first end frame and a first centre frame. The first end frame is configured for holding a first root end of a first blade. The first end frame is formed for being coupled to a supporting base. The first centre frame is configured for holding a first centre section of the first blade in such a way that the first centre section is spaced from a first tip end of the first blade. The first centre frame is formed for being coupled to the supporting base.

  • Publication number: 20120321479
Abstract: A method of production of a rotor blade (15) for wind turbine generator (WTG) is disclosed using a load carrying structure or spar (10) extending from the root end of the rotor blade (15) towards the tip end of the rotor blade (15), and comprising: applying pre-shaped foam members (11 and 12) to the load carrying structure or spar (10) to build up a desired outer blade configuration, removing or adding foam material to obtain a desired outer blade configuration, coating the outer surface of the rotor blade with a material providing a smooth and rigid surface shell (16) structure, and finishing the outer surface shell (16) of the rotor blade (15) by grinding and optionally painting. Using only relative simple provisions a considerably more flexible manufacturing process is achieved with important advantages regarding the outer configuration of the rotor blades.
