Patent number: 7030871Abstract: This invention is directed to the active matrix display device with an imaging speed rapid enough for the moving image display and the small power consumption. The selector makes the switch between the moving image mode, where the image signal consecutively inputted is consecutively displayed after the certain processing is performed by the data processing unit and the still image mode, where the display is made based on the image signal stored in the frame memory. The messy display upon the switching between the modes can be prevented by differentiating the switching timing of the still to moving image mode from that of the moving to still image mode, improving the display quality.Type: GrantFiled: July 29, 2002Date of Patent: April 18, 2006Assignee: Sanyo Electric Co., Ltd.Inventors: Makoto Kitagawa, Mitsugu Kobayashi, Makoto Fujioka

Publication number: 20040182542Abstract: The invention relates to heat sinks made of finned aluminum extrudates and useful for electronic devices and information devices having an electronic device incorporated therein. The heat sink of the invention made of a finned aluminum extrudate comprises a base plate, and fins arranged in parallel and provided on one surface thereof. The base plate is 25 to 400 mm in width, 25 to 400 mm in length and 2 to 5 mm in thickness, and the fins are 1 to 30 mm in height, 1 to 1.9 mm in interval and 0.1 to 0.8 mm in thickness. The thickness of the fins is reduced within a predetermined range according to the invention to thereby ensure diminished resistance to the flow of air and improved radiation performance. This also renders the heat sink lightweight, serving to reduce the size and weight of electronic devices and information devices.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 25, 2004Publication date: September 23, 2004Inventors: Koichiro Take, Ichiro Iwai, Yoshihiro Hayashida, Makoto Fujioka

Publication number: 20010052887Abstract: In the driving of a liquid crystal display panel with pixels in a matrix comprising n rows and m columns, when a partial display instruction is issued, respective rows in a display area (202) of s rows and m columns within the matrix are sequentially selected for one frame. Then, predetermined partial display data is written into the selected rows. Predetermined background data such as white display data is written into the background area (204) other than the partial display area (202). In the background area 204, either k rows and m columns or pixels of (the leading row ((s+1)-th row) of the background area, next to the final row in the partial display area) are selected during one frame for writing of the background display data, k rows and m columns are sequentially shifted each frame.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 9, 2001Publication date: December 20, 2001Inventors: Yusuke Tsutsui, Makoto Kitagawa, Mitsugu Kobayashi, Hisao Uehara, Makoto Fujioka

Patent number: 6278496Abstract: In the &ggr; correction circuit, a crossover point arithmetic processing unit performs arithmetic processing for each region on crossover points y in the output data direction of a &ggr; correction crossover line based on a plurality of slope data A respectively specified for each of a plurality of regions and crossover point positions X in the input data direction set in advance.Type: GrantFiled: October 8, 1998Date of Patent: August 21, 2001Assignee: Sanyo Electric Co., Ltd.Inventors: Makoto Kitagawa, Mitsugu Kobayashi, Makoto Fujioka, Yusuke Tsutsui, Hisao Uehara

Patent number: 6118905Abstract: An image processing apparatus detects, in step 1, whether or not differences between currently supplied image data and image data of a previous pixel are more than a predetermined value m, and identifies a border of a computer-created image or a natural image, where a brightness level differs from the remaining area of the image, when the differences are more than the predetermined value m. Conversely, when the differences are less than the predetermined value m, the image processing apparatus checks, in step 2, whether image data at a pixel before and a pixel two before the current pixel are identical with respect to the color components constituting the color image. When the differences are not all zero, it is checked whether or not the image data at a pixel before the current pixel and the image data at the current pixel are all zero. When the image data are not identical, the color image is identified as being a natural image.Type: GrantFiled: January 19, 1996Date of Patent: September 12, 2000Assignee: Sanyo Electric Co., Ltd.Inventors: Hisao Uehara, Mitsugu Kobayashi, Makoto Fujioka, Kenji Saiki, Makoto Kitagawa, Yusuke Tsutsui

Patent number: 5784040Abstract: An image information processor for a liquid crystal display by a digital driver is intended to provide image display near to a source image by making continuous-tone image display by pseudo representations. The image information processor generates L-bit image display data based on P-bit source image data, L being less than P. Added to source image data of a picture element of the Nth frame (where N is a natural number of 2 or greater) is error data corresponding to the picture element of the (N-1)th frame at the same position as the picture element of the Nth frame. The high-order L bits of the P-bit data resulting from the addition are used as image display data of the picture element of the Nth frame and at least one bit of the remaining low-order bit data is held as error data of the picture element of the Nth frame.Type: GrantFiled: February 6, 1996Date of Patent: July 21, 1998Assignee: Sanyo Electric Co., Ltd.Inventors: Mitsugu Kobayashi, Makoto Fujioka, Atsuyoshi Tanioka, Kazuhiko Moriwaki, Makoto Shimizu, Hisao Uehara
