  • Publication number: 20160103010
Abstract: A liquid level detector includes a casing, a float, a magnet body, and a switch mechanism. The casing is fixed to the container and includes a tube section extending along a gravity direction. The float floats on the surface of liquid and is displaced upward or downward along the gravity direction, being guided by the tube section. The magnet body is held by the float to be displaced upward or downward in conformity with the surface of liquid. The switch mechanism is accommodated in the tube section and is switched between its on-state and off-state by the upward or downward displacement of the magnet body. The casing includes a first casing part and a second casing part. The first casing part includes the tube section, a first locking section that is formed radially outward of the tube section, and a first guide section that is formed at a tip of the tube section in its extending direction.

  • Patent number: 9175646
Abstract: In an EGR valve, a valve element is seatable on a valve seat by stroke movement of a valve stem caused by an actuator. The valve seat has a cylindrical part with which a step of the stem is engageable. By the stroke movement of the valve stem, the opening degree between the valve seat and the valve element is changed. The valve seat is moved in the passage in the stroke movement direction to be engageable with a shoulder of the passage. As the valve element is moved together with the stem, the opening degree in the low opening range is changed. As the step of the stem is engaged with the cylindrical part and the valve seat is moved with respect to the shoulder, the opening degree in the high opening range is changed.

  • Patent number: 9147831
Abstract: A method for fabricating a crystal unit, including a preparing step, a bonding step, and a separating step, is provided. The preparing step prepares a quartz plate and a supporting substrate with a recess that is larger than the vibrating region on a surface of the supporting substrate. The recess corresponds to a vibrating region in the crystal unit. The bonding step bonds the quartz plate to the surface of the supporting substrate such that the quartz plate is separated from the supporting substrate in the recess. The separating step separates the quartz plate into the vibrating region and the framing portion by performing dry etching on the quartz plate such that the quartz plate has a shape that connects the vibrating region to the framing portion via a supporting beam. The framing portion surrounds the vibrating region.

  • Publication number: 20150268388
Abstract: An infrared apparatus includes a case, and an infrared device to input and/or output infrared rays. In the infrared apparatus in which the infrared device is received in the case, the case has an infrared transmitting window part which transmits only infrared light and which does not transmit visible light. Of a light transmitting resin through which near-infrared laser used for near-infrared laser welding passes and a light absorbing resin which emits heat and melts when receiving the near-infrared laser, the infrared transmitting window part is made of the light transmitting resin.

  • Publication number: 20150068504
Abstract: An EGR valve includes a valve housing having a gas passage and a motor housing containing a motor. The valve housing and the motor housing are made of different materials. The valve housing is provided with a valve seat, a valve element, and a valve shaft. The motor includes a stator having a coil and a rotor having an output shaft. The output shaft is rotated together with the rotor, thereby making stroke movement of the valve shaft in an axial direction to change an opening degree of the valve element with respect to the valve seat. An ECU for controlling the EGR valve determines a target opening degree of the EGR valve, uses the coil as a temperature sensor to detect the temperature of the motor, compensates a target opening degree based on the detected temperature, and controls the motor based on the compensated target opening degree.

  • Patent number: 8967125
Abstract: A lip seal is placed between a housing and a valve shaft and adjacent to a bearing of the shaft. A deposit-guard plug is placed between the housing and the shaft and adjacent to the lip seal. A first end of the lip seal is placed adjacent to a first end of the bearing. A first end of the plug is placed adjacent to a second end and a lip portion of the lip seal. A second end of the plug is placed to face a passage. A first distance from the first end of the bearing to the leading end of the lip portion of the lip seal and a second distance from the second end of the plug to the leading end of the lip portion of the lip seal are set to be longer than a maximum stroke of the shaft in stroke movement.

  • Patent number: 8806937
Abstract: A temperature sensor supporting device includes a supporting body having first and second groove portions, a separation preventive part, and a pair of harnesses connected to a temperature sensor. The first groove portion is set to have such a groove width size as to permit clamping of proximal end parts of the harnesses inward of the supporting body when the proximal end parts are viewed as a single overlapping line from a first angle. The second groove portion is set to have such a groove width size as to permit clamping of intermediate parts of the harnesses inward of the supporting body when the intermediate parts are viewed as two lines from a second angle. The proximal end parts and the intermediate parts are clamped respectively in the first and second groove portions so that the sensor is positioned and fixed with the sensor disposed outside the supporting body.

  • Patent number: 8789237
Abstract: A blower tube (4) to be connected to a power blower has a tube main body (42) having a distal end portion (42a) diminished in diameter toward its distal end and an attachment (44) to be coupled to the distal end (42a) of the tube main body (42) and including a distal end portion (44a) gradually diminished in diameter toward its distal end. Both these distal end portions (42a, 44a) are each provided three projections at distant position to protrude radially inward toward an axial line of the blower tube (4). The first projections (46) on the tube main body (42) and the second projections (48) on the attachment are positioned offset in phase to align in an alternate order. The blower tube (4) having the projections (46, 48) at the distal end portion can reduce the noise caused by ejection of a high-speed airflow.

  • Patent number: 8474418
Abstract: The position of a passage separating member in the axial direction of the cylinder bores is determined by causing a spacer to contact a bottom surface of a water jacket. When the separating member is inserted in the water jacket, the width of the separating member is reduced due to elastic deformation, so that the separating member can be arranged in the water jacket. After being arranged, the separating member tightly contacts the inner surface of the water jacket due to elastic restoration force. The tight contact prevents the separating member from moving upward in the water jacket. As a result, coolant is prevented from moving between the upper portion and the lower portion with respect to the separating member. The advantages of separate cooling of the coolant in the upper and lower portions with respect to the separating member are obtained. This reliably reduces the temperature difference along the axial direction of the cylinder bore forming body.

  • Publication number: 20120325872
Abstract: A backpack strap includes a strap main body, an upper end of which is connected to a backpack frame, a pad attached to the strap main body on a user side, and a contact state holding unit holding an upper end of the pad in contact with the backpack frame. Upper portions of the strap main body and pad are spaced apart from each other by a specified distance. The upper end of the pad has a shape and a strength that is, when contacting the backpack frame, able to prevent the backpack strap from falling sideways. Due to a tensile force of the upper portion of the strap main body and a stiffness of the upper portion of the pad, the upper portion of the pad is held in a projecting state with the upper end of the pad acting as a support point.

  • Patent number: 8091518
Abstract: A partition member used in a cylinder block of an internal combustion engine is disclosed. The partition member is arranged in a groove-like cooling passage through which a cooling heat medium flows. The partition member includes a separating wall and a flexible lip member. The separating wall divides the cooling passage into an inner passage and an outer passage. The inner passage is located close to the cylinder bores, and the outer passage is located outside of the inner passage. The lip member extends from the separating wall toward the opening of the cooling passage in such a manner that, when the partition member is arranged in the cooling passage, the lip member contacts one of the inner surfaces of the cylinder block forming the cooling passage. When the partition member is arranged in the cooling passage, the distal edge portion of the flexible lip member contacts the inner surface due to force produced through flexible shape restoration of the lip member.
