  • Publication number: 20020001030
Abstract: An oblique projection optical system is provided with a first group lens system, a second group lens system and a third group lens system that are placed in succession from a short conjugate length focal surface, and each lens system has a plurality of single lenses. The first group lens system contains a beam regulator to form a telecentric structure. The second group lens system is set to have a great tilt decentration and a parallel decentration with respect to the first group lens system. The third group lens system is set to have a great tilt decentration and a parallel decentration with respect to the second group lens system. In this manner, instead of making the lenses decentered inside each lens system, the respective lens systems are made decentered from each other; thus, the resulting projection device is easily manufactured, and makes it possible to correct the distortion aberration and focal position on the screen surface, and to project an image with high precision.

  • Publication number: 20010043335
Abstract: When a scanning start position set signal is input in an area image sensor, the content is transferred to a vertical scanning circuit, and the scan start position is set. Image of a desired row is read by horizontal scanning. Then, one shift signal for vertical scanning is input, the position of scanning is shifted by one row, and horizontal scanning is performed. Thus image of the next row is read. By repeating this operation, a desired strip-shaped image is read. The shape of the object is determined and when a portion is determined to have complicated shape, the image data is input by means of a lens having long focal length, and image data of other portions are input by means of a lens having short focal length. By putting together a plurality of input image data, image data as a whole is generated.

  • Publication number: 20010021005
Abstract: A projection apparatus and a three-dimensional image display apparatus are provided. Light being separated into R, G and B color components reflected from a digital micromirror device through a TIR prism is directed into a both side telecentric optical system, is image-formed in the both side telecentric optical system, and is then directed into a processing optical system including optical path length compensators, dichroic mirrors, mirrors and an image rotation compensating mechanism without being vignetted The both side telecentric optical system is designed to satisfy |f1|>75 mm where f1 is the focal length of the entire both side telecentric optical system. The both side telecentric optical system has a long back focal length to allow the processing optical system to be easily placed in front of a projection optical system. Thus, the projection apparatus and the three-dimensional image display apparatus facilitate the insertion of the processing optical system therein.

  • Patent number: 6268918
Abstract: An apparatus and method for detecting a three-dimensional image. The apparatus includes a projector which projects a reference light on an object; an image sensor which senses an image of the object; and a controller for controlling the projector and the image sensor, wherein the image sensor includes an aperture that restricts the passage of entering light; and an aperture controller for setting an aperture value for the aperture when receiving a two-dimensional image input, and setting an aperture value for the aperture when receiving a three-dimensional image input. The aperture value is set based on the intensity of received reference light. A processing unit determines the position of the object based on a relationship between an illumination direction of the reference light at the determined time center Npeak and an entrance direction of the reference light relative to the target pixel.

  • Patent number: 6233049
Abstract: A three-dimensional measurement device employs a slit ray projection technique to optically determine a three-dimensional image. The device offers a choice in operating modes between high-speed measurement, high-resolution measurement and large dynamic range in the depth direction, to accommodate various situations. The different modes of operation are achieved by selectively modifying one or more of the scanning speed of a projected reference beam, the readout speed of a photosensor, the line width or line spacing of the photosensor, and the number of lines per image frame.

  • Patent number: 6181523
Abstract: In a magnetic disk drive, a head carriage assembly includes a slider which is directly adhered to a carriage. The assembly, therefore, needs a minimum of constituent parts and a minimum of assembling steps. The absence of a conventional metal plate reduces the thickness of the assembly and, therefore, the overall thickness of the disk drive. The weight of the assembly is reduced in the front part of the carriage. This successfully reduces a period of time necessary for an overshoot and vibration occurring during seek due to a drive motor to attenuate, thereby reducing the reading time and writing time.

  • Patent number: 6141105
Abstract: This invention is related to a three-dimensional measuring device for measuring three-dimensional positions of an objects. The three-dimensional measuring device comprises an optical projection system and an optical reception system. In a preliminary measurement prior to an actual measurement, the optical projection system projects slit light beam on the object with varying projection angle with in a narrow range, and the optical reception system receives the slit light beam reflected by the object and generates image signals corresponding to an amount of the received light synchronously with variation of the projection angle. Measurement conditions including intensity of the light beam and the projection angle for the actual measurement are set in accordance with the image signals of the actual measurement. Under the measurement conditions, the actual measurement is executed by projecting the light beam on the object with varying the projection angle within a wide range.

  • Patent number: 5856850
Abstract: An image display system, in which a display image of a monitor of the first scanning system is taken by a TV camera of the second scanning system to pick up video signals to be displayed on a monitor of the second scanning system. The output of the TV camera of the second scanning system is multiplied by a factor.alpha. (.alpha. is any real number satisfying 0<.alpha.<1) in a first multiplier. This multiplication result is added together with another input value in an adder. The output of the adder is stored in a frame memory. One frame of video signals read out of the adder is multiplied by another factor (1-.alpha.) in the second multiplier. The first and second multiplication results are added together in the adder, and the addition result is returned to the frame memory as feedback. As a result, the video signals output from the TV camera are averaged to prevent an offensive image to the eye of the display.
