  • Patent number: 5595525
Abstract: A numerically controlled grinding machine of the present invention grinds a cylindrical surface of a workpiece by a relative movement between the workpiece and a grinding wheel. The grinding conditions such as a grinding method and a finishing diameter of the workpiece are inputted so that data necessary for grinding the Workpiece are automatically determined in dependence upon the grinding conditions. The automatically determined grinding data are displayed on a display means. The grinding data displayed on the display means are modified by one of the four rules of arithmetic. The modification are carried out in accordance with a compensation rate set by override switch and the like or a compensation value inputted by a key operation.

  • Patent number: 5303511
Abstract: A spindle apparatus for supporting and rotating a workpiece in a grinder. The spindle apparatus includes a workpiece spindle rotatably supported on a spindle head and driven for rotation by a motor, and a spindle plate mounted to the front end of the workpiece spindle and including an eccentric drive pin. The workpiece spindle has a bore in which a ram is axially movable. A center is fit in the front end of the ram. A unit is provided to advance the ram to engage with one end of the workpiece when the workpiece is to be supported. A rotary sleeve is rotatably supported on the front end of the ram and includes an engagement portion which is displaceable in the axial direction of the spindle and engageable with the drive pin in the direction of rotation. A driving unit is mounted to the front of the rotary sleeve to engage the workpiece in the direction of rotation when the ram is in its advanced position to thereby transmit rotation.

  • Patent number: 5068747
Abstract: An image reading apparatus for repeatedly reading an image of a fixed manuscript by reading the fixed manuscript line-by-line in a first direction and scanning in a second direction each line of the fixed manuscript. The image reading apparatus also repeatedly reads an image of a moving manuscript. The moving manuscript is transferred from a manuscript supplying section also in the first direction and each line of the moving manuscript is also scanned in the second direction. The image information read by the scanning of the moving manuscript in the second direction is memorized in the sequential read order and then is read-out in an order opposite to that of the sequential read order. The image information read by scanning the fixed manuscript in the second direction may be memorized in the sequential read order.

  • Patent number: 4908719
Abstract: An original table is provided on which an original is placed. This original on the original table is scanned by a first optical unit. A conveyance path, constituting an auto document feeder, is provided near the table, and one side of the original moving on the conveyance path is scanned by the first optical unit and the other side of the original is scanned by a second optical unit disposed near the first optical unit. The scanned output of the first optical unit is stored in a memory which can delay its content by a time corresponding to the distance between the first and second optical units. The signal stored in this memory and the scanned output of the second optical unit are sequentially outputted.

  • Patent number: 4760463
Abstract: An image scanning section has an optical system for scanning an original in a two-dimensional manner, and a photoelectric converter for converting an optical image obtained by the optical system into an electrical signal. A binary coding section performs simple binary coding of the electrical signal supplied from the photoelectric converter in such a manner as not to accompany pseudo-gray scale coding, and performs pseudo-gray scale binary coding of the electrical signal supplied from the photoelectric converter in such a manner as to accompany pseudo-gray scale coding. An area designating section designates an area on the original. A scanning mode designating section designates image scanning modes within and outside an area designated by the area designating section and has at least a first scanning mode designating section which does not accompany pseudo-gray scale coding and a second scanning mode designating section which accompanies pseudo-gray scale coding.
