  • Publication number: 20240026748
Abstract: A frac plug is disclosed that is used for isolating a lower portion of a wellbore from an upper portion to enable a fracking process on newly created perforations in casing or liner pipe where the frac plug is particularly designed rapid drill out after all the fracking operations have been completed. The frac plug includes arrangements for holding the polymer or rubber element from rotation as the plug is being drilled. One arrangement includes pins that lock the polymer element to the bottom cone. In another, the polymer element is simply bonded by adhesive to the faceted cone. The facets on the cone prevent the cone from rotating in the wellbore by being pressed against the flat bottom slip segments that remain locked to the casing or liner pipe.

  • Patent number: 9824166
Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer readable media for utilizing parallel adaptive rectangular decomposition (ARD) to perform acoustic simulations are disclosed herein. According to one method, the method includes assigning, to each of a plurality of processors in a central processing unit (CPU) cluster, ARD processing responsibilities associated with one or more of a plurality of partitions of an acoustic space and determining, by each processor, pressure field data corresponding to the one or more assigned partitions. The method further includes transferring, by each processor, the pressure field data to at least one remote processor that is assigned to a partition that shares an interface with at least one partition assigned to the transferring processor and receiving, by each processor from the at least one remote processor, forcing term values that have been derived by the at least one remote processor using the pressure field data.

  • Patent number: 8316454
Abstract: The present invention describes a method and system for protecting the integrity and authorship of a piece of registration information of the user, applicable in voter information registration, by means of biometric techniques. To that end, after a first stage of entering a piece of registration information, a second stage of protecting the integrity of the registration information is implemented. In this second stage, an item of integrity proof of said information is generated and said item of integrity proof is displayed to the user who wishes to protect it. In a third stage of generating an item of non-repudiation proof of the registration information, an item of biometric proof of the user which contains the item of integrity proof displayed is obtained, an item of non-repudiation proof is constructed from said item of biometric proof, and finally the item of non-repudiation proof is stored.

  • Publication number: 20070289820
Abstract: An elevator system (20) includes a safety device (50) strategically positioned within a hoistway to provide overhead or under car clearance during an inspection procedure, for example. An example safety device (50) includes a triggering member (56) that is selectively moved into a stopping position to engage a safety brake (42) for preventing movement of an elevator car (24) beyond a selected vertical position. The triggering member (56) is selectively moveable in an automated manner between a retracted position and a stopping position. When the triggering member (56) is in a retracted position, it has no effect on normal elevator system operation. When the triggering member (56) is in the stopping position, it provides for maintaining adequate clearance between an elevator car assembly and another surface or structure within an elevator hoistway.
