Abstract: A wireless computer game controller with integrated audio system that sends and receives audio signal via integrated circuitry provided in the controller. The wireless interface (transmitter/receiver) establishes a communication link to facilitate the transmission of both command signals and audio/video signals between the controller and computer device to thereby provide two-way interaction with the stand-alone computer device within a single accessory device. The controller circuitry also incorporates a speaker or headphone jack to deliver audio stimulation. In the preferred embodiment, the controller sends an audio signal to an ear piece where the ear piece includes a separate microphone to transmit audio to a separate receiver or a third party.

Abstract: A wireless computer game controller with rechargeable batteries that may be recharged while the batteries are installed on the controller and/or while the controller is in operation. Disposable batteries may also power the controller. In one embodiment, a communication cable connects the controller with a stand-alone computer game console such that the rechargeable battery pack is recharged directly from the game console through the communication cable. The cable not only establishes a communication link to facilitate the transmission of both command signals and audio/video signals between the controller and computer device, but it also deliver a recharge signal to the battery pack through the game controller. In another embodiment, the rechargeable battery pack is recharged through a stand-alone cradle that receives either the controller while the batteries are mounted to the controller or the battery pack separate from controller.

Abstract: A wireless control unit includes a controller having wireless transmitter circuitry for transmitting game information, and a single console interface/adapter for converting a plurality of the communication ports of the game console into wireless receivers/transmitters. A single console interface/adapter converts multiple game console ports. The console interface/adapter may also includes an additional communication port (i.e., pass-through) so as to provide the user with access to the used communication port while the interface/adapter is operably disposed within the communication port of the game console.

Abstract: The present invention is directed to a controller having a gel-gripping surface for engagement with a user's hand. The controller includes a housing having a plurality of operation members logistically positioned for manipulation by a user's hand. A handle portion adapted to be grasped by the hand of a user includes a deformable gel-grip extending over a substantial portion of the handle. The gel grip includes a flexible external exposed surface containing a semi-liquid flowable material within a cavity portion of the gel-grip. Such an arrangement provides a multi-directional deforming gripping surface with a comfortable feel.
