  • Publication number: 20230068907
Abstract: There are disclosed systems and methods for managing object configurations within a structure. For one embodiment, a fixed object profile including dimensions and locations of ventilation of a building space and a non-fixed object profile including dimensions and a location of a non-fixed object are identified. One or more contaminant risk locations of the building space are determined in response to determining the air flow within the building space associated with an HVAC unit. The air flow is determined based on incoming air flow streams to the building space and outgoing air flow streams away from the building space. One or more object positions are provided at an output device based on the contaminant risk location(s). For another embodiment, the contaminant risk location(s) are selected from possible people locations. A person position is displayed at an output device, in proximity to the building space, based on the contaminant risk location(s).

  • Publication number: 20220284314
Abstract: A system and method for knowledge based information modeling using a semantic binding engine that generates a binding configuration based on a legacy domain semantic model extracted from a controller of an autonomous system and a knowledge graph extracted from a knowledge repository of domain knowledge related to the autonomous system. The binding configuration represents a mapping of standardized model instance components to a component of the legacy domain semantic model. An adapter with a server processes communications related to a standardized information model, including information requests that are translated to a set of process variables of the legacy domain semantic model using the binding configuration.

  • Patent number: 11099633
Abstract: Examples of techniques for augmented reality authoring using virtual reality are disclosed. In one example implementation according to aspects of the present disclosure, a computer-implemented method includes receiving, by a virtual reality processing system, a depth map from an augmented reality processing system, wherein the depth map is a map of a scene. The method further includes authoring, using the virtual reality processing system, an augmented reality experience in a virtual reality environment based at least in part on the depth map. The method further includes transmitting, by the virtual reality processing system, the augmented reality experience to the augmented reality processing system.

  • Publication number: 20210097772
Abstract: There is described an Augmented Reality system and method thereof for creating and managing a virtual twin of a real-world object, in which the virtual twin includes a virtual part corresponding to an object part of the real-world object. A processor identifies a geometric primitive associated with an object part of the real-world object and associates the virtual part to an attribute of the virtual part. A communication component provides semantic data representing the virtual twin to a knowledge model at a remote server. The semantic data is associated with the virtual part and includes the geometric primitive and the attribute of the virtual part. The geometric primitive includes a geometric shape aligning substantially with an outline of the virtual part and uniform shading provided within the geometric shape.

  • Patent number: 10782668
Abstract: A system and method is disclosed for development of a control application for a controller of an automation system. The controller receives sensor signals associated with perception of a first real component during an execution of the control application program. Activity of a virtual component, including interaction with the real first component, is simulated, the virtual component being a digital twin of a second real component designed for the work environment and absent in the work environment. Virtual data is produced in response to the simulated activity of the virtual component. A control application module determines parameters for development of the control application program using the sensor signals for the first real component and the virtual data. An AR display signal for the work environment is rendered and displayed based on a digital representation of the virtual data during an execution of the control application program.

  • Patent number: 10771350
Abstract: A system for enabling an augmented reality application includes in a mobile device of a user, displaying a real-world object and allowing the user to interact with the real-world object by drawing a virtual outline of the object and build up the current configuration or its virtual twin. A computer processor retrieves a list of possible component objects of the real-world object. The user interacts with a visual depiction of the scene and move candidate component objects to the virtual outline of the real-world object. The configuration of the real-world object is saved allowing the AR application to retrieve the verified configuration and produce augmented overlays overtop the visual depiction of the real-world object. The configuration is verified by the user using spatial relationships of the component objects associated with the real-world object. The verified object configuration may be tracked in the AR application without needing a recognition procedure.

  • Patent number: 10747389
Abstract: For display of a 3D model (20) in virtual reality (VR), merely converting the CAD display from the 2D screen to a 3D image may not sufficiently reduce the information clutter. To provide metadata for the 3D CAD model (20) with less occlusion or clutter, a separate space (32) is generated in the virtual reality environment. Metadata and information about the 3D CAD model (20) and/or selected part (36) of the 3D CAD model (20) is displayed (58) in the separate space (32). The user may view the 3D CAD model (20) in one space (30), the metadata with or without a representation of a part in another space (32), or combinations thereof.

  • Patent number: 10395499
Abstract: A personal protective equipment (PPE) monitoring system is disclosed that includes a set of wireless transmitting devices and a mobile application executable on a mobile device. The mobile device receives a wireless signal from a transmitting device associated with a workstation and determines the type of workstation based on an identifier included in the wireless signal. The mobile device also receives wireless signals from transmitting devices attached to PPE items located in proximity to the mobile device and determines the types of PPE items based on respective identifiers included in the wireless signals. The mobile application determines PPE items required to operate equipment at the workstation and further determines whether the set of detected PPE items includes all of the required PPE items. The mobile application generates a user interface that indicates the presence or absence of each required PPE item and displays the UI on the mobile device.

  • Publication number: 20190026930
Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer-readable media are disclosed for utilizing computer-mediated-reality-based technologies such as augmented reality or mixed reality to render digital information about a physical machine or associated process on top of or otherwise in proximity to the machine. The digital information may be rendered as an overlay over the real-world environment. The digital information may be rendered on a display of a wearable device of an operator, such as when the wearable device is within a line-of-sight of the machine, or may be projected onto a surface that is in proximity to the machine. The digital information may also be rendered within a control room environment as an overlay over an actual image or virtual representation of a factory floor environment that includes the machine.
