  • Publication number: 20060147151
Abstract: A lighting device is disclosed comprising a plurality of semiconductor light sources disposed on a carrier, wherein the light from the light sources is coupled into assigned lightguides at a set angle to the surface normals of the carrier and the lightguides are provided with reflecting and light exit faces such that the envelope of the light outcoupling faces forms a curved surface segment.

  • Patent number: 7058250
Abstract: The invention relates to a lighting device, comprising a light guide (11; 31; 43), a light source (12; 32, 33; 41), which couples the light that is emitted into the light guide, and a support (10; 20, 21; 22, 23; 30, 35, 38; 40, 42) in the form of a shell, consisting of several interconnected sub-shells which enclose the light guide, at least in the area in which the light should be deviated. The invention also relates to a method for producing a lighting device.

  • Publication number: 20060083013
Abstract: A headlight with a predetermined emission characteristic. This headlight has a light source, which is followed by an optical apparatus in an emission direction, with a primary optics element with a light inlet and a light outlet being arranged between the light source and the optical apparatus. The formation of a desired emission characteristic comprises deliberate reflections in the primary optics element, that is to say the primary optics element is designed such that desired characteristics of the light beam are formed within the primary optics element by deliberate reflections on specially shaped reflective surfaces of the primary optics element, so that it is possible to produce an emission characteristic which corresponds to the predetermined emission characteristic of the lighting means, essentially by projecting a real or imaginary surface, which the light beam strikes, with an optical apparatus.

  • Publication number: 20060076572
Abstract: A light-emitting diode arrangement having at least one light-emitting diode chip (1), each light-emitting diode chip (1) being assigned at least one optical element (4). In addition, the light-emitting diode arrangement has at least one heat-conducting element (13) which is suitable to carry away the heat generated by the light-emitting diode chip, and at least one cooling apparatus which is suitable to carry heat away from the heat-conducting element. The light-emitting diode arrangement is particularly well suited, for example, to use in motor vehicle headlamps.

  • Patent number: 6994203
Abstract: A subassembly for a document validator. In an implementation, the subassembly includes a housing, a light pipe core seated in the housing, a light control layer and at least one light source. The apparatus may also include a prism structure layer between a top diffusing surface and the light control structure. The housing may also include at least one input light port on at least one end of the light pipe core.

  • Publication number: 20040056370
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for producing a light guide or optical light outcoupling element with a light outcoupling surface which has light outcoupling structures by means of an injection-molding process. The light outcoupling structures are produced by means of laser ablation of the injection mold or of the already injection-molded light guide or light outcoupling element.
