  • Patent number: 10129743
Abstract: A method, non-transitory computer readable medium, and apparatus for establishing a secure communication link between a mobile endpoint device and a networked device are disclosed. For example, the method scans an optical code, wherein the optical code contains configuration information and an encryption key, configures the mobile endpoint device in accordance with the configuration information, sends a request to the networked device to establish the secure communication link, wherein the request is encrypted using the encryption key and receives a confirmation from the networked device that the secure communication link is established between the mobile endpoint device and the networked device once the networked device has authenticated the mobile endpoint device based upon the request, wherein the confirmation is encrypted using the encryption key.

  • Patent number: 6700594
Abstract: A method includes providing a plurality of clock signals. Each of the clock signals is associated with a respective one of a plurality of printheads in an electrophotographic machine. Each of the clock signals has a respective frequency. The method also includes using the printheads to create a plurality of raster lines. Each printhead is used to create the raster lines with a respective length. The length is dependent upon the frequency of the associated clock signal.

  • Patent number: 6263170
Abstract: A consumable component identification and detection apparatus enables a host device to detect and identify a consumable component inserted into the host device, such as a printer. A passive circuit element is embedded into the consumable component and remaining circuit elements are included in the host device so that when the consumable component is in the host device an electrical circuit having known characteristics is completed. The electrical circuit, such as a filter, is energized by a test signal and the output from the electrical filter together with the test signal are input to a characterization circuit to identify/detect the consumable component. A counter/timer may be used as part of the characterization circuit to count clock pulses when the output from the electrical circuit after initial processing is coincident with the test signal. The count is interpreted to identify/detect the consumable component.

  • Patent number: 4941082
Abstract: A light beam positioning system (10) has the capability of generating accurately positioned beam paths at programmed velocities between any two positions on a target surface (18). The beam positions correspond to beam position and velocity command data processed by a system control computer (22). The invention employs an error correction processor (52) that receives X and Y position coordinate signals (X and Y signals) produced by a conventional position data generator and develops compensated X and Y position coordinate signals (X.sub.c and Y.sub.c signals) for delivery to a light beam positioner (12). The X.sub.c and Y.sub.c signals are derived from a calibration map of an addressable field representing the positions to which the light beam can be commanded on the target surface. The X.sub.c and Y.sub.c signals represent polynominal functions of the X and Y signals and offset beam position errors resulting from the light-directing properties of the system optical components (26, 28, 30).
