  • Patent number: 9231560
Abstract: A phased-array RF pulse generator is disclosed which includes a video-pulse generator arranged to generate video pulses each having a leading edge. An array of nonlinear and dispersive transmission lines, are arranged to generate RF pulses from the video pulses. At least one sensor is arranged to detect the leading edge of the video pulses after they have passed along the transmission lines. A phase controller is arranged to set the velocity of the video pulses in each transmission line to put the detected leading edges, and hence the generated RF pulses, into a desired phase relationship.

  • Patent number: 9110170
Abstract: A terrain aided navigation using multi-channel monopulse radar imaging to provide a navigation position update. The monopulse radar transmits a single RF pulse transmission or multiple quick RF pulse train bursts to generate a monopulse radar image that can be correlated with a digital terrain segment to provide navigation updates when requested. The radar has monopulse and off-axis capability that allows for selection of a terrain segment within the radar's search area that will provide a good terrain correlation. The radar measurements are made on a range/Doppler cell-by-cell basis that includes angle information. The cells in the range/Doppler map corresponding to the antenna main beam return are converted into a high resolution (x,y,z) image and correlated to the selected terrain segment in the data base reference frame to provide an updated navigation position estimate.

  • Patent number: 9033648
Abstract: A gas turbine engine is disclosed having a vane disposed in a flow path of a gas turbine engine component, for example a gas turbine engine compressor. The vane is in thermal contact with a heat tube that extends through a wall of the engine component and into a space in which a thermal fluid passes. The thermal fluid can be at a different temperature than the vane such that heat is transferred between the two. In one embodiment the vane forms part of an intercooler for a compressor of the gas turbine engine. The vane can have a fin disposed at the end of the heat tube to facilitate a heat transfer.

  • Publication number: 20150071091
Abstract: A manner of monitoring network performance using an AMA (active monitoring agent). A network manager, generally operating on one of the network nodes, establishes an AMA associated with two end points, at least one of the end points including a VM running an application. VM migration is monitored, and if a detected migration is associated with an active AMA then the new endpoint or endpoints associated with the AMA are calculated and a new AMA is established.
